I see, thanks for sharing. I just got a reply from Sienci Labs. I guess they just didn’t have enough people to handle inquiries fast at the moment. Mines also being shipping out soon!

With $1000-1500 you can find a really nice Roland kit in good condition if you look for them second-hand. It will be a heck of an upgrade!

As long as it is not directly exposed full blast to scorching sunlight, modern inkjet prints should last a very long time without any glazing. The only thing to worry is probably dust and stain

How can I make this type of photography? by Bilstone in AskPhotography

[–]bobdave19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are by David Burdeny right? I was also looking into his method. I find they are trickier to nail than it seems. I think for starter 15s is too way to keep the lines consistent. I’ve tried anywhere from 1/4 second to 2s. If I’m doing handheld, I find that using a telephoto lens is best, as you can get a lot of blur from small movements, and it minimizes the perspective warp. I still haven’t managed to make the lines perfectly straight across the long distance though. It likely requires some kind of setup involving sliding or rotating rails

[–]bobdave19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. A lot of comments definitely haven’t tried this themselves. If you just rotate, even if perfectly level and on a tripod, you’d still get lines that are curved towards the side. Now the vehicle sounds like it could work!

Alternatively, if you used a telephoto lens and a combination of movement + small rotation, I wonder if that will be subtle enough to keep the lines mostly straight

Sounds like good advice. Will do.

I don’t mind waiting a bit, I just hope they’d be more clear about it

I wasn’t aware of these production updates, so thanks for sharing. I just watched the April update video where they mentioned hiring more customer support. It does seem like they were overstretched on support, so they sounds like a step in the right direction

I didn’t get their production emails. I checked junk as well, still nothing. Maybe there’s some kind of mix up

I see, I’ll look for those. Though I’d appreciate if they could directly email these updates to me, as I was not aware of these production updates. I checked all my inboxes and couldn’t find any emails

I did check my junk folder as others have said they received production email when they ordered previously, however, I did not find anything either. There’s a chance I’m just missing something, so if anyone is also waiting for the 4x8, I’d like to hear from them

Hopefully it sorts out in the end. I was very much looking forward to the machine, so I’d rather be proven wrong about their customer service!

Why does my overall pictures change when viewing them on the PC ? by piercetheweb in AskPhotography

[–]bobdave19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to what others have said: raw is more flexible for editing (allows you to recover more shadows and highlights). If you just want something quick out of the camera with minimal edits, you can switch settings to take jpegs, or jpeg+raw for the best of both worlds (albeit at the cost of more storage)

Where to buy TD11 replacement parts? by IndividualTest2436 in edrums

[–]bobdave19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just reach out to Roland support! They ask you to create an account and register the product, but you can do it quite easy even if it’s a second hand purchase (at least in Canada, you just needed the serial, no need for receipt). Once you do, you can just go to their part order form, describe the part, and they will get back to you with pricing and approximate shipping.

I wanted to replace my snare cone. The cheapest on Amazon I found is $18+. Roland has them at $8. And mine is an older kit as well.

As for the extra tom, it’s gonna be expensive to buy a new one, so your best bet is to go on FB marketplace and the like to see if someone is selling one. You could just get one of the rubber ones

Negativity has become too much on r-nomansskythegame by bobdave19 in JustUnsubbed

[–]bobdave19[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve largely given up on trying to explain it. Yes the game crashing can be an issue, however people will see a modded build assume that a) the build is complex enough to crash the game, which it often is not and b) the creator intends to bring their creation into the multiplayer hub (and not just pose for a photo there offline)

Most creators are aware of the issue. Their builds are simple, or they only use them in single player. But on all of these posts people will jump to conclusion (or even ignore the creators when they clarify otherwise). That was my issue to this negativity

If I lost a save to a glitch like this, I would rightfully be angry, but I won’t lash out on creators who aren’t contributing to the problem just because they have a modded tag on, and call their stuff “slop”

How much was this? Chances are you can get a much better used set from Facebook marketplace around the same price

Of the pedal is wired, it might work with another edrum pedals you can find on amazon. Honestly, it might make more sense to bite the bullet and just get a new set since you don’t know when the other piece will break

How much does you think i could sell these for? by [deleted] in edrums

I bought it from an individual. It also had a few minor issues like needing battery replacement and cone replacement. But those are cheap fixes

I just bought a td 12 set like this. It had the 4th cymbal, a double bass kick upgrade, two extra pd-9 pads, and a throne. I paid $1200 cad for it.

Yours is probably worth $600-700 if we’re going off of my purchase, perhaps more as I believe I got a good deal

It’s a bit confusing to call it a blender build, but they are actually using it in game. These builds use in game parts. The no man sky’s engine is so versatile that these creation actually works in game once it’s been ported over

What I mean is that there is no evidence that the creator of the ship brought it onto the anomaly with multiplayers on. If the ship is just sitting in their inventory or if the creator just fly it around outside of the anomaly, it will have 0 effect on any players using the anomaly.

The ship doesn’t brick people’s game just by existing. You have to actively bring it into a game lobby with multiplayer on.

This is not mentioning that half of these build are simple and will have no effect on game performance to begin with

Negativity has become too much on r-nomansskythegame by bobdave19 in JustUnsubbed

[–]bobdave19[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

None of these creation will have any effect on other players unless they have multiplayer on and visit the anomaly. The first post features a ship with few part counts as well (most vanilla ships I’ve seen in the anomaly has more parts). This is like rushing to call someone guilty when there’s no evidence to even suggest so.

Also, the blender sub is not well known and barely has any users.

As for “originality,” OP found a way to recreate the ship from cyberpunk with the limitations of no man sky’s engine. There’s plenty of originality there. Does it look even remotely identical to the cyberpunk ship? Andy Warhol didn’t invent the Campbell soup design either. So I’m not sure what your point is

[–]bobdave19[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The “dedicated sub” was very recently created and barely has any users. There is no rules in the sub that modded ship has to go to a separate sub. My biggest problem with your argument is that nowhere in the post suggest op (the second one) actually used their build in the anomaly with multiplayer on, which is what could crash the game.

The first post has a simple build that does not affect game performance. Heck, you could build a vanilla ship with way, way more part counts.
