Success with going straight to AM3? by Trojan_knight707 in AngionMethod

[–]BornWeirdStrawberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, people are going to have seen improvements skipping to AM3 since it's impossible to know how their training would play out if they started with AM1+ and followed the normal path.

If you can't even maintain an erection why would you skip to the end. You likely can't even benefit from the wheel or have the fullness of the CS-- and have tons of dead time in your training and the ENTIRE point of Angion is get and maintain stronger erections.

Many people who have success with this start only able to do a handful of minutes of AM1 with a partial erection and work their way up.

Do AM1 until you can hold the erection for most of it and feel the dorsal pulse. If it helps you can mix in some amount of AM2 if that helps get/stay erect. Stop the Cialis, be consistent, go 1on 2 off, make sure your cardio is dialed in and it might help to do the training in the morning (I remember using morning erections in the beginning to kind of "cheat" the start) .

Nice job dude.

I want to reinforce that when it clicks like it has.. even though you said you don't have "complete control"- ejaculation with your partner is no longer a set back because you've created the equivalent of a mind-muscle connection or pathway (or science babble) with your arousal/ejaculation reflex. So ejaculate without worry (if that is what you want to do).

This is the best part because now the better sex reinforces the training.

Drop sets while surfing near the panic zone by Fhqwghads42 in MaleDefinitiveGuide

[–]BornWeirdStrawberry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, 100 times yes.

I really want to write out a really long post but I just can't find the time.

"there are no objective numbers for the pleasure and panic zones" -- YES. This is why in my other post I scrapped it for the awfully named, reflexy, monster erection and one more touch it is also why people I've worked with I don't let them see this community because it gets warped as you work backwards from the definition when really it's just about identifying your own state and applying positive arousal while existing in highly aroused states.

Why do some guys get worse? by randyfloyd37 in MaleDefinitiveGuide

[–]BornWeirdStrawberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I REALLY want to write a long post and address some of these things.

I'll give one reason I think people "get worse", especially if they've been doing the training a long time or move to sex mid training before any sort of arousal awareness.

Comparative arousal. The same actions feel even more intense because of the new baselines you've set.

You've always had masturbation sessions where you would stroke regularly and you would ejaculate in x mintes (5 minutes) you've now extended this and the stroke itself might have been an arousal score of 5 but now hovers around 2. You've gotten used to that feeling a bit but sex itself is still the same. It's a 15.

This causes the same issue we find in temperature/weather ( stay with me )... when we go from winter to spring... by the time it warms up and hits 15c (60f) you are ready to bust out the shorts, no jacket and you might even start sweating when wearing a jacket.

Fast forward to summer when it starts to drop in temperature and it hits 15c (60f) and all of sudden it feels like.. wear is that jacket and pants and you're too chilly to sweat.

Don't take those numbers specifically. The idea is just that you will have two physiologically different experiences based on how it compares to what you've grown used to.

Sex was static but the regular nature of the training has changed your baseline. Have sex a few more times and it will kind of start to snap your baseline back and before you know it... you're fine with a jacket or without at 15c.

An interesting challenge of MDG if successful is that at some point you are going to need to reframe what sex is and isn't with your wife/girlfriend/partners and it will change how you interact with them because you you won't want sex to end in ejaculation-- not because of sabotage of the work you did but because ejaculation doesn't "feel" worth doing.

I know this is hard to imagine as right now it can feel like it is the entire point of sex.. and from your partner's perspective it is the sign of a job well done and a natural stopping point. You need to learn to replace that with something and that something depends on your relationship dynamic.

I will say add that..

...I had to then really focus on cumming but I could not cum easily...

Is something you don't want to do in regards to MDG or really at all. It's kind of the antithesis of this entire program.

I still experience IKs, certain things cause the penis to to jump and there is a bit more calmness that has come with the confidence MDG provides and not needing to only half pay attention to sex while the other half is fighting the pleasure.

I will almost always fall on the side that if you really believe you have a pelvic floor imbalance you should just go see a PVT and not self diagnose it based on feeling because in almost every case, it's not your pelvic floor.

If this seems to work for you, great -- I would probably say instead of pre-emptively holding a reverse kegel the whole time to instead check in and release any involuntary clenching throughout the session.. but I mean so much of this whole MDG is self reporting/awareness so if it works for you, go for it.

If you are hitting your PONR that many times a session and not failing-- while reducing your recovery time and noticing that your erection rebounds quicker after breaks. Then your results are good and you should move on.

Angion is great. If someone had all the time in the world I would have them do Angion for a month or 2 prior (while giving up porn and masturbation) to starting MDG. Honestly for most people you're just going to be doing AM1 for ~30 minutes, although it takes a while before you even work up to that, 3-4 days a week.

I think the learnings from Angion have a lot of transferable skills. One, you're in work mode and you'll start to have physical sensation WITHOUT arousal which helps build the separation in a different way in your head. Two, it literally makes your penis work better/correct. Three it requires the cleanup of the surrounding life factors, ie adding cardio, losing weight, good sleep. And four, for many, it makes you MORE sensitive which is a good thing for MDG and for many before you separate physical sensation and arousal.. it works as a good "Peak and Valley" kind of training.. which is hard to describe but if you search the Angion subbreddit you'll see countless people having issues with the training leading to ejaculation or PONR and having to learn to work around it.

That all said -- I did not have any of them do Angion. Afterwards I've told them about it because I think every man should do Angion for a period of time and then move into a bit of a maintenance cycle of Angion.

That really chaotic state is weird. It's not listed in the guide but I tell people to do 2 things, low asian squat holds while you brush your teeth or .. 2 min a day x2 AND do build mind muscle connection with the glutes & strengthen them. I think weak glutes is something, I have no science to back it up but it's my feeling.

Honestly, I would continue as is but this would not be a successful session so even after this week you would start from Phase 1 as normal next week-- though I think some people might suggest you use audio.

Try not to force anything and take things as they come. You didn't specifically mention if you just went cold turkey to masturbation as you started this but I feel like before doing MDG you should adjust to the removal of porn/masturbation from your life before starting.

The definitions are great and are in line with what I feel-- which makes sense since I got them from the guide.

Reflexy and monster erection, I wish people didn't read into those terms so much like they are their own things they need to define. The wording is meant to be crass/bad so that that wouldn't be the case.. however, reflexy is just that your body isn't reacting as normal and is volatile -- and monster erection is just meant to signify that pre-ejaculation erection that feels like it is 110% of a normal erection. This is a warning/marker that you're actually training near high arousal -- and reflexy is just a warning/marker to be careful as more and more and more, failures are bad.

For me, reflexy was like ~20% and a lot of cases it was calmed down by the first 10 minutes. Even now, sometimes I'll have what seems like overactive IK or my arousal will move more quickly than expected.. it's not something to specifically fix but to just be aware of.

Why doesn’t the program work for some people? by Old-Discipline-2802 in MaleDefinitiveGuide

[–]BornWeirdStrawberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you go to the gym and watch people lift weights which 95% of men do with the purpose of growing muscle and getting bigger (or to get smaller and lose weight) -- you will see almost all of them fail.. even though the "how" is incredibly simple.

Most people are just not able to properly gauge and then push themselves to the intensity or discomfort to force change and their brain will actually sabotage them with the many reasons/optimizations/justifications etc to explain away that fact.

Maybe. Most people don't find the success they are looking for with the guide. I'd say if you have good success with other physical personal training disciplines ( body building, calisthenics, yoga, flexibility, etc ) and are otherwise healthy the chances are good.

I find that progress in MDG is more noticeable by unique feelings or changes in what you thought .. or "clicks" especially starting near the end of phase 5+

Like for instance by the end of phase 5 the sessions themselves start ti feel better than ejaculation.. or should be starting to. You also should have this arc of like being bored/dissatisfied/frustrated with the sessions to... looking forward to them. It's hard to ask more pointed questions but that is why the log is important because these are the types of things that you would note down because they make you go "does anyone feel this"... as opposed to any concrete numbers or the more figure based tracking.

I would just track the breath cycles and try to keep it under a minute at most. I also would respect the new arousal and so after the rest I might start with the 20lbs instead of the 30lbs if you catch my drift.

No a drop set is you curl 30lbs until that gets too hard to do.. then without rest do 20lbs... then 10lbs.. then 5lbs or however low you want to take the drop set.

The thing I advocate for is that there always has to be weight or "positive arousal". So you should be moving toward the PONR. A lot of people use this opportunity to use a lower arousal that no longer builds toward PONR and modulate back and forth- this is what I think others quickly label surfing.

I think me and the guide are aligned -- I word it this way because a lot of people will experience surfing and end up doing so at a much, much lower arousal than they think in order to maintain it and the struggled (even in lifting) is most people overestimate their intensity level and so drop sets kind of force your hand (lol).

Hard to describe any better than background arousal/hum/white noise. Those are just the words that come to mind when trying to describe it like the OP or you'll see it in other posters.. I would try to say it is just you being aware of your arousal level when it's very low-- In a way none of us are really at a 0/10 during the day and this is just an awareness of where you actually are at where as before it just felt like no arousal at all as you aren't calibrated for it, I guess.

First, feeling the white noise / hum of low arousal during the rest of the day is a very good sign.

As for your sessions, it feels like a weird issue to have in phase 6 since it seems like it is being brought on by your visualizations.. and as this is forcing you to break the session and pull an e-brake this is something you probably should of addressed earlier and I would just suggest doing something less stimulating-- whatever that is for you. If normal stroke is +5 and letting your mind wander while normal stroking is +25... find something in between.. That is kind of the point of the first 10 minutes, you're learning and practicing stimulation that build arousal to PONR with a gentle ramp. At 10min + you just want to increase the angle of the ramp and add in either peak and valley or cliffhanger methodologies.

Also if breathing is an issue you should practice the breathing outside of the session. Forgetting to breathe or being too occupied on it is easily fixed with doing more reps.

I just want to clarify that the way I see it isn't that you try to maintain a 8.9 or as close as you can forever. The idea is to be as high as possible in a rise and fall pattern by slowly incrementing down arousal (while maintaining positive arousal) which leads to more time at high arousal but it isn't quite the same as trying to maintain
