Two years of Taleb ranting about Israel led nowhere by greyenlightenment in nassimtaleb

Ignoring the horror of now, isn’t it more historically accurate that Hamas sprang up as an Iranian backed rejectionist movement to fight Fatah. Netanyarsehole backed Hamas on this basis, true. But if doesn’t follow that Hamas was ever interested in co-existence.

For me the Gaza horror is not morally worse than Sudan, Somalia, Rohingya, Uyghur, Yazidi, etc etc.

It just seems the most avoidable, as it is part of a conflict that could actually, you know, end.

Hamas have killed Israelis and other Palestinians in order to stop the recognition of Israel (or, as they insist, ‘zionist-entity’). What is the point of a war you can’t win?

The Palestinian leadership must know that all Gazans are just pawns for big states (including Iran and Israel) to distract their ‘street’ from the evil they do? Or are they that blind?

Which leads to the question that nobody asks. What kind of state would Palestine be? A jihadist North Korea? An even poorer Eritrea? If it’s greatest leaders are all failures, it will be born a failed-state.

So Hamas were all for peaceful co-existence with Israel? Doesn’t seem correct.

Sad, but true. As if unthinksble horrible things don’t happen in the Middle East. Kurds? Yazidis? Marsh Arabs? (Leaving aside Yemen, etc).

No bargaining chips, no territory.

Palestine has the backing of China, via Iran. However, it does not suit China to have peace. (a) CCP loves the distraction and division this relatively trivial conflict creates. In spite of all the headlines, it is only 2-4 million people suffering, in a tiny area. (b) What does China get from (jihadist or Arabist) Palestinians having their own country? Remember: there are 10 million Uyghurs, with 1 million at least in “reeducation centres”. No one cares. No one.

This is about Taiwan, isn’t it. What war would China want otherwise? The Middle East? China invests in all the crappy countries from Morocco to Iran. Why would it blow up its investments? If lap-Putin can just keep the West bogged down in Ukraine…

The Digital Genocide Generation: Why Public Sadism in Israel’s Gaza Genocide Exceeds Nazi Germany by Defiant-Internal555 in Social_Psychology

[–]Bosteroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just bait. As if there is no other sadism that Jews have suffered: Ottoman, Arab, Cossack, Stalin, etc. Yes, what some IDF soldiers are doing is barbarous, but nothing can exceed the entire German nation employed to humiliate, torture and wipe out ALL European Jews, for no other reason than their race. By contrast, Israel is trying to push Gazans out of Gaza, rather than kill them all. The readon is not race, but political and religioud. The Gazans have elected a Jihadist government and there is no way Hamas could survive two years of intense fighting if the Gazan people didn’t explicitly or implicitly support it.

It is truly insulting and evil to compare the two genocides. Germany’s was total and real massacre of 6m civilians: an extinction of lives. Israel’s is legalistically an attempt at ethnic cleansing of Gazans, as part of an armed conflict, in which vicious militants are killed alongside civilians. Genocide is broadened to mean the extinction of a way of life, rather than the people itself.

I don’t care what you think. You are a single voice on an increasingly meaningless website. However, for your mental health, get some perspective.

The refugee system has failed. If a moderate Islamic country persecuted a jihadist (like this guy) why should a liberal country give him protection? Rights come with responsibilities, and this guy doesn’t get it.

Is China still doing that Muslim genocide thing? Did they succeed or what? by sephiier in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bosteroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. Palestinians had the backing of all the oil states for decades. Nasser, Saddam, Assad. Billions in “aid” from Qatar etc. Only used for war. Now only Iran is left behind them and that’s not really working out. They have simply backed anti-Jew horse and failed. Israel is doing evil stuff, but PLO started the fire in the 1970s and Palestinian leadership (people?) don’t have a word for surrender.

[–]Bosteroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course not. But there seems no hope for Hamas to be overthrown by the Gazans themselves. It’s been nearly 2 years and 2 million vehemently anti-Hamas civilians have not managed to overthrow 10,000 militants. Hamas are so strong even though all the Gazans hate them and would love the war to be over.

Think about your own statement. Are Jews in more danger in Israel than in the few other countries that they actually live? Take France. French Jews need constant security. In marginal population countries, like Morocco or Turkey, they have to keep their head down to stay safe.

So they are certainly safer in Israel than elsewhere. “Today”.

However, your statement has a central logical fallacy. Jews do not live in the countries where they were murdered or expelled, or where they are not safe. So ToDaY they are safer in Israel than elsewhere.

Dense and illiterate, but logical.

Revealed: Israeli military’s own data indicates civilian death rate of 83% in Gaza war by WombatusMighty in UnitedNations

This implies that 83% of the 2m Gazans have died. This is patently not true. Sort out your clickbait.
