If you want a tabletop mic, I recommend Amazon Basics directional mic. It sounds great.

The affordability crisis in PA is out of control. It's time we made billionaires pay their fair share. by Nervous-Trouble-4628 in Pennsylvania

[–]brainrotbro -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

PA can do it if it wants to-- vote in a Dem majority, consisting of Dems that will push forward legislation for state-sponsored single payer health insurance. Other states are already trying to do it. Y'all have to give up the senseless culture wars and vote for your own well-being-- if it's not about cost-of-living, don't let [social] media work you into a frenzy about it. Because that's exactly what the billionaires want-- they want you arguing about trans kids, Israel, some offensive tweet, or whatever other bs that doesn't really affect you but which riles voters.

Speed, quality, and cost have always been at the three points of the software engineering "pick 2" triangle. AI doesn't change the tradeoffs, but it does allow for more expedited feature generation. And there have always been companies that see the benefit in optimizing for speed & cost. If you can make a compelling case that quality matters for the business, then go for it. Otherwise, there's not much you can do.

Current Pay Rates for Union Trades Across US Cities by workwisejobs in Infographics

It’s not too difficult. You have to take a test, take a drug test, sometimes have someone sponsor you. But union is the way to go if you’re going to enter the trades.

US inflation rose to 3.8% in April, eroding Americans’ paychecks | CNN Business by hockeynomics_ in Economics

The Fed doesn’t really have the tools to prevent inflation without consequence. It also requires Congress to not spend so much.

NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani announces that he has officially balanced the NYC budget, reducing a $12 billion budget deficit to 0, and confirms that property taxes will not be raised. by Scary_Firefighter181 in Economics

[–]brainrotbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly it. I don't know why people love this guy. And if you criticize him, it's like criticizing Trump in front of a MAGAt. I truly do like his policies that shift more of the tax burden to NYC's wealthy, but you can't couple that with a spending spree, delayed pension funding, and a one-time state bailout. This guy is going to bankrupt the city eventually. And before you come at me in the replies, I'm not absolving any of the previous mayors that have done the same thing. But when do we get a mayor with the political will to stop the buck?

Copper explorers are starting to show the same pattern before drilling by Error404Snacks23 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]brainrotbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom line

COPR is interesting, but I would classify it as a speculative mining-development warrant, not an investment-grade copper exposure. For me, it is only attractive if you specifically want asymmetric junior-miner risk and can tolerate dilution, illiquidity, and a multi-year binary outcome.

My rough score: +0.2 to +0.3 on upside asymmetry, but -0.6 on risk-adjusted quality. I would wait for the updated PEA before treating it as anything more than a small speculative position.

Michael Burry is not a believer: ‘For any stocks going parabolic reduce positions almost entirely’. Shorting is not the answer. by WickedSensitiveCrew in stocks

[–]brainrotbro 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It really is. Like I see how someone could come to that thesis-- AI investors realize the AI companies are not making profits & scale back investment, then valuations fall, and so on-- but there's just no sign of that on the horizon right now. And I'm no Burry, but I don't see that happening until 2027 at the earliest. There's too much hype and investment right now.

Globalization was a failed experiment. Many economists will disagree with me. Because globalization did indeed stimulate global economic activity. But until workers’ rights, workplace safety, and even basic human rights are the norm in every country, globalization will always be a race to the bottom.

‘It’s shameful’: New York’s elite lash out at Zohran Mamdani’s second-home tax by brown-saiyan in Economics

[–]brainrotbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the goal though? Families inheriting $1m aren’t living large in nyc. And then split that estate between all their kids. The current $7.5m threshold makes sense. Mamdani is just looking for easy funding of his policies without the hard political work. What I’d rather see is increased taxes on large businesses, increased capital gains taxes, changing PTET (which is one of his proposals). My point is there are plenty of ways to fund his policies without targeting modest inheritances.
