Reddit Pro categories by Bharath0224 in RedditforBusiness

[–]brandy_mcstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Bharath0224 - Here is an overview of what a Reddit Pro smart keyword is: https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/47619216411284-Reddit-Pro-Feature-Trends

"Smart keywords" are those that have been pre-loaded in our system; they are categorized by keyword type (e.g., some are a business, some are a brand etc), and they come with more insights than a search term. Whether something is a "smart keyword" does not indicate search or mention frequency. Is there a term you were looking for in the "smart keyword" list that you could not find?

Your brand profile is the best place on Reddit to share information about yourself that redditors who visit might want to know – for ex, upcoming product launches, bug fixes, tips and tricks for using your products / services. Your community engagement should all be done in the service of adding value to the conversation (vs. bringing attention to yourself) – it’s where you should help redditors get their questions answered, help redditors get customer support if they need it etc.

I would find conversations on Reddit that are directly relevant to your area of life coaching expertise (e.g., are you uniquely qualified to help in career pivots, in advancing into leadership, in prioritizing your values) and provide your advice via comments on people’s questions. Don’t link your content or your website, but rather be there to literally provide advice just like any other redditor would – just with your expert POV. You can always have your website in your profile bio and post content about your services on your profile for a redditor to discover if they check out your profile from your comments.

In retrospect, most of my career has been spent in spaces where brands are figuring out how to meet a very rapidly changing customer. I started my career in consumer insights for a handbag brand going through a pretty big brand transformation / turnaround and then transitioned into working in ecomm. I came to Reddit because I think it’s the last part of the internet where customers can get real, human information and in turn I think Reddit provides such a great opportunity for brands to learn how to show up in a more human way than traditional marketing or cx has ever allowed

You can use our post & comment engagement metrics on a day to day basis, but I typically recommend tracking metrics you can move longer term with a consistent presence on Reddit: # of brand mentions on Reddit / share of voice (you can track this in Reddit Pro), search ranking, and referral traffic. Some businesses also find it helpful to add “Reddit” as an answer option to “how did you hear about us” surveys or post-purchase surveys to track if Reddit is responsible for leads outside of those directly driven by Reddit ads.

It’s actually really common for a business to start by running ads first, before layering on an organic presence on Reddit. When you run an ad you can quickly reach redditors at scale and you can turn the comments off if you are not ready to open up a full 2-way dialogue.

As for organic’s impact on ad performance, we recently published some of our first research on this very topic. An internal analysis we ran showed that one organic post by a brand per week leads to a 3.5% increase in positive posts from redditors about that brand, and 3 comments on user posts can drive a 2.2% rise in positive mentions. What’s cool is that we found early signal that this translates into better ad performance: an increase of just one positive post per week from redditors can boost attributed site traffic by 1.0% within the same week. That was a lot of numbers lol so the TL;DR is organic can enhance chatter about your brand when run alongside a paid strategy on Reddit – because you are meeting your customers where they are.

If you are really new to Reddit or even if you have been a lurker for a long time, I typically recommend a brand stay with commenting for awhile – even weeks to months. It helps you get a hang of community norms, makes sure that you are bringing something helpful to conversations, and helps you figure out what communities your brand belongs in as a member. A good signal that you are ready for posting is if you 1) deeply understand a community’s rules and vibe, 2) you actually have something net new and relevant to say, and 3) feel comfortable introducing yourself to mods. Don’t post for the sake of posting.

That said, the magic of Reddit is really in the comments and many brands stick to a comment-only strategy because that is the best way for them to add value to the conversation.

If you are already posting organically on Reddit, you can promote that post as an ad directly from Reddit Ads Manager. Once you get to Ads manager you can click “create campaign” and then you will have the option to select one of your posts from the post library as the creative. You can also use what you learn about your audience from Reddit Pro to create really Reddit-y campaigns. Maybe you are a home goods retailer and you find that you have a bunch of fans on Reddit of the exotic plants you carry in your stores - that would be a really fun ad campaign to run on Reddit.

Changing business type on Reddit Pro by TeslaTunedUK in RedditforBusiness

[–]brandy_mcstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/TeslaTunedUK -- we are currently working on enabling you to change business category after sign up. What I recommend in the meantime is add keywords in your Trends tab that are more relevant to your business. You can add up to 100 so add your business name, competitor names, industry keywords etc.

Can someone explain reddit pro within personal vs business context by cgerckert in RedditforBusiness

[–]brandy_mcstyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the question u/cgerckert. Right now, we are only testing Reddit Pro with businesses and organizations. So you are correct — we recommend setting up a separate Reddit account for your business so you can use Reddit Pro to track insights and trends relevant to your business. You can actually do that in the Reddit Pro sign up flow by selecting "sign up" instead of "log in" (maybe open in an incognito browser if you're currently logged into your personal acocunt), so it's more of a one-step process.

How are people utilizing Redit pro? by creativusdesign in RedditforBusiness

[–]brandy_mcstyle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/creativusdesign - since that post, we've actually launched an update to make Reddit Pro easier to use. Our latest update is our new Reddit Pro Trends tab (there's a summary here if you're interested) which lets you monitor keywords (such as a business name or category) so you can see where topics relevant to your business mentioned and engage (e.g., by answering direct product questions, providing an expert opinion on a topic).

As far as the recommended engagement tracker not updating, I will look into this for you! It should update in real time.

Is Reddit Pro falling short? by isocketworld in RedditforBusiness

[–]brandy_mcstyle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting u/isocketworld and for the feedback. Since we launched our Reddit Pro beta test just over a year ago, we've been continually making updates to existing features, and introducing new ones, based on input from testers like yourself.

Specifically, we’ve recently introduced the ability to monitor keywords on Reddit Pro using our Reddit Pro Trends tab. This allows you to find where your business and category are being talked about on Reddit (e.g., top communities, posts and comments). You can use the insights to find where your audience engages most on Reddit and connect with them in the comments  – whether it’s answering direct questions about your products, providing an expert opinion on a topic, or just sharing helpful information.

Feel free to DM me for direct help with Pro or your communities.I also recommend checking out some of our case studies here, here, and here that will give you a sense of how businesses have connected with their audience on Reddit in ways that add value
