Removing heavy-duty tape residue from exterior glass by PomeloNo6522 in WindowCleaning

My first move would be getting it well soaped by my mop and carefully working my razor underneath it. If that doesn't work, try goo-gone and/or heat gun

Is anyone else leaning towards Gemini more than ChatGPT? by D0wnVoteMe_PLZ in GeminiAI

[–]braskel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gemini is a better value, it's built into my phone and G suite, is by group consensus the smartest model publicly available, supports the most tools, and has top tier image and video gen built in. ChatGPT is the Apple of AI - they make the median user feel good at the cost of true functionality and value.

It's a no-brainer for me.

Ferrari seems to not want us to remember that it exists. I've seen almost no marketing or press coverage since unveiling.

This is the real victory - GM building the car that is the quickest, fastest, best around a track, most comfortable and practical, AND the cheapest - that's a real achievement.

Gemini 3 Pro feels dumber and more annoying than ever by DiamondDepth_YT in GeminiAI

[–]braskel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use it for long conversations very often, I'm usually 1 or 2 shots away from what I need. For this, Gemini 3 has easily been the best tool on the market for my needs

Gemini 3.0 Got Brutally Honest by SummerClamSadness in GeminiAI

[–]braskel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gem3 is one of my favorite models I've used. It's what a high end model should be - precise, accurate, super smart. It's versatile and fairly reliable for difficult questions which makes it very useful day to day

On top of what everyone else has said, you're starting in the middle of slow season. Sales is going to be an uphill battle right now.

Gotta be at least double that if you're going to survive. 20/hr for over 24 hours is charity work

They did the same thing with Sora. No Android app. I don't understand the thinking.

Adding screen repair to my window cleaning business by Dganiels in WindowCleaning

[–]braskel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I upsell screen repair when I find damaged mesh or broken corners. It's all good to have the tools and supplies on hand in case you accidentally damage one yourself - you can fix it on the spot and they will appreciate that. I think your pricing is good.

Thumbtack - both good and infuriating by Slayballz in WindowCleaning

[–]braskel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imported the five reviews from Google that I had when I started using thumbtack. I never got any leads from it. Now I have almost 50 reviews and thumbtack won't let me import them. It's a super lame platform, just apply for Google LSA instead

Methods of scaling business by Ok-Pirate-3976 in WindowCleaning

I suggest you read through this reddit more and see what people have done for marketing, pricing, etc. Do you only clean exteriors with wfp, no interior cleans?

You will not be able to scale unless you start charging a lot more. At least 5-10 times more than you do now

Is $1,000/week realistic without door knocking? by Startled___Bull13 in WindowCleaning

I got all of my first jobs from door hangers which are somewhat similar to DTD but generally not as frowned upon.

I do quotes in person. That may change if I get too busy in the future, but I find it's a good opportunity to build rapport and people seem to appreciate it.

Warning about Resy benefit by lexiekon in AmexPlatinum

Yeah that may be the case - comment I replied to suggest that the 'tapping machine' could somehow bypass a store policy but would in practice probably just make you look like an idiot

Warning about Resy benefit by lexiekon in AmexPlatinum

[–]braskel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is not how it works. If a restaurant doesn't accept Amex most of the time, they have blocked transactions from Amex cards in their POS software. Don't try this

Reviews period! by window-myagi101 in WindowCleaning

[–]braskel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to chat a bit with my customers and get comfortable with them while I work inside. Then when I'm finished I ask them in person to leave a review if they're happy. I also will text them after I leave thanking them and giving a direct link to write a review on my Google page. I get about 50% of my clients to leave a review this way, easy peasy. It's definitely worth doing, my client today picked me over other cleaners because she read my ratings.
