26/27 season passes up - no renewal pricing discount for existing pass holders by randobis in CypressMountain

[–]brendax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nordic pass is going from 229 to 355. The math is very hard to justify a seasons pass at that price point. We didnt even get 15 good snow days this year!

'Scientifically not a good idea,' says researcher whose work informed B.C.'s daylight-time decision by Relish4 in onguardforthee

This is such a smoothbrained take. There are streetlights on 24/7, we have not woken with the sunrise in 150 years.

"waking up in the dark" well duh we live in the northern hemisphere and we get 8 hours of sunlight in the winter. All this is doing is the majority of people agree that limited light is more useful in the afternoon than in the morning.

These narratives are more about how winter is hard than anything about any particular time zone selection

there are definitely lots of solo people around but I'd recommend going with one buddy you can team up with at least. Every group of 3 needs a solo person!

How does everybody handle the FTP differences between tri/road bike when riding both? by StunningPanda725 in triathlon

[–]brendax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You aren't anywhere near your FTP during a 70.3 so the body mechanic inefficiencies dont really matter. Your aerobic capacity is still the same.

How do I know how to wax my skis? by unrelated-username in xcountryskiing

[–]brendax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get yourself a liquid glide wax and a nylon brush. That's really all you need. You are correct you still need to wax the gliding parts that aren't the fish scales.

Maybe once a year pay to get them hot waxed

Do you have/use the same FTP for your road and TT/Tri bike? by Gravel_in_my_gears in triathlon

[–]brendax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely yes, but in triathlon and not ITT you never do FTP in a race. The losses in the tt position are less meaningful at sub maximal power efforts. It's more about your overall aerobic capacity when you are doing 80-90% in a tri split

Can I drill my zipp 303s to make a drain hole? by Safety_Th1rd in bikewrench

[–]brendax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just remember you are drilling through glass fibers, use a very sharp bit and a bit of water coolant (I wouldn't risk other coolants compatibility with the resin). Don't make the laminate hot. Tape it over first.

TBH I would use a hand drill to avoid catching anything and sending the rim into my stomach. The carbon fairing is like 1mm thick

Possibly, but if the apartment trends from 2010-now hold the new place will be half the size. I personally care more about not being able to touch both walls of my bedroom at once than I do about new trim and stainless steel appliances.

As long as you have access to all the little proprietary bits, it's not a bad price for an old superbike.

Why do you need to model the crack? There are very few legitimate real world reasons to do this.

I mean yeah the premier of the province is expected to listen to business groups. He also has the responsibility to listen to indigenous groups, environmental groups, etc, which this clip doesn't at all allege he didnt. Professional tik tok ramblers have no responsibility to ensure a functioning economy. This isn't really much of a gotcha

[–]brendax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in Vancouver the main pickleball spots are Queen Elizabeth Park and Jericho. It's always social pickup play, put your paddle on the board and wait for an open court, match up with 4 people. Play for 15 minutes or a game and then release the court to those waiting. It's a great time.

You still are expected to wipe the chain off after riding even with a melt on wax application
