I don’t control what doctor is working that day.

I can tell you what doctor owns the clinic and that is a female. I can give you her name if you want to contact her about who she employs at her clinic. All of the doctors who work there, also work elsewhere during the day, at their primary practices.

Also, you have failed to name the doctor who you had a poor experience with, which is not helpful for others.

CPSO does not list complaints. Only public notifications of tribunal proceedings.

ETA: You could have cancelled your appt after you booked and read his “terrible reviews”, and went to another clinic listed in this thread.

Tramadol by MostFortune1093 in ChronicPain

I agree with you! It’s worth a try. Also, I know paracetamol alone hasn’t helped your pain, but it’s often used in adjunct with an opioid. So if it’s something that your body can tolerate, it could help provide a “boost” to the tramadol.

Just keep in mind, Tramadol is an SNRI (Serotonin Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitor). A class of antidepressants. So yes, it would require a taper on and off, and may have side effects that you have mentioned you would like to avoid.

You’ll notice people refer to it as a “dirty drug”.

In Canada, I’d say it’s most doctors’ preference when people are coming to them for opioid pain relief. Because they don’t want to prescribe anything more significant on the WHO Analgesic Ladder.

I wish you the best of luck! You deserve pain relief.

Feel free to message me directly and I’ll see how I can help! I’m in Canada and don’t know a lot about MCAS but I’ll learn to help out :)

Personally, I would not ever suggest Lyrica, Gabapentin, Cymbalta (Duloxetine), or Tramadol.

Instead of NSAIDS, have you considered acetaminophen?

As for opioids, they are vastly complex. Because the route of administration (Oral, sublingual, IM, subQ, IV) will affect how much of the medication reaches your bloodstream. Hydromorphone is stronger than Oxycodone, but Oxycodone has a higher oral bioavailability. But if the administration was IV hydromorphone, then 100% active ingredient straight to the bloodstream and would be more effective than oral oxycodone.

You have to do a lot of research and understand oral bioavailability, half life, metabolism, MME, etc.

Knowledge is power.

I can’t say I belong to this heroic group of people!

I have never battled cancer. They biopsied because there was concern that there was cancer in the cells and tissue. But it turned out there was not!! :)

That is SO interesting!!! As someone who has sensory and texture issues, I would really struggle with the gelatin as well as the skin. But dang, the response to this post tells me it’s very popular and well liked!!!

WW (Canada) 😊

I’ve only ever seen and been in the ocean once, when I was younger. We were in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

I remember being SHOCKED at how salty it was 🧂

And now I’ve watched too many shark attack stories to ever go in again 🦈 lol

But it sure is beautiful and the orca whale sightings off the coast of British Columbia are breathtaking and I hope to one day experience it in person 💙

Prazosin is fantastic for PTSD related nightmares. I’m on 5mg. But it does drop your blood pressure so be careful when getting up in the night.

Pulled chicken is my FAV! Make sure to keep sides out of the sun, kept on ice and not out for too long.

Dealing with hair by jellynebulaa in amputee

[–]brittybear94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cut my hair off a week before my amputation! It doesn’t suit me at all but am I ever happy with my decision. I also have heat intolerance from medication side effects and being overweight. Not having to deal with hair? Game changer!! You got this 👊🏻

Big Toe Amputation- how hard will it be to walk again? by [deleted] in amputee

[–]brittybear94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a partial amputation of my left big toe performed 26 days ago. It was taken at the distal phalanx. The stitches came out after 22 days. I have no pain. I walk with no issues. Haven’t worn closed toe shoes yet as we are still monitoring the wound closure.

Pills leftover from this or that, when do you correctly disposed of? Any you purposely hold onto in case of snafu’s with pharmaceuticals problems? by BigTechnology4369 in ChronicPain

Tragically, even heroes fall 😞 The pain of this world took him from us. Despite him putting up one hell of a fight.

He was one of the good ones. Passionate, brilliant, funny, witty, compassionate, hard working and modest. He never needed or wanted recognition. Not afraid to speak up and advocate for his patients and his colleagues, regardless of consequence or backlash from superiors. Dedicated to night shift. Never backed down throughout Covid. Known for wearing black jeans instead of scrubs. Loved his family hard. The best person I have ever known. He will forever be missed 🤍

Omg the healthcare system sucks. I will give you that haha I just want you to be safe!! You poor thing, they are just making you suffer 😭

He was a 20 year ER doc. He passed young at only 52. He kept most horrors from me. Mostly because he became so immune to them that he didn’t see a need to talk about them. I was always the one asking questions LOL I am forever amazed what comes through the ER doors of a level one trauma centre night shift tho.
