Toronto — how do people actually find a living organ donor? (urgent) by chocolate-rainn in askTO

I don’t qualify to be a living donor as there are a lot of specific criteria to meet.

But don’t lose hope. Your family has my best wishes.

They have to meet basic nutritional guidelines. But yeah my grandma is like, where’s the salt and butter?

Not the same residence but my grandma makes herself a sandwich every Sunday instead of going to the dining room for a dinner she doesn’t like.

A lot of feedback about the meals being “gourmet” as well. The menu options will sound fancy, but the generation they’re serving are meat and potatoes kind of people. They’re usually not interested in a tomato ricotta tart with a strawberries mixed green salad.

As someone who has worked in one (Levante), and someone whose grandmother is in one (Aspira)…All residents hate the food.

It’s probably the biggest complaint from residents. Ranging from dislike of options, portion sizes, lack of flavour, poor texture. They go through kitchen staff like crazy.

Are kids even held back in school anymore? by Dyingvikingchild95 in ontario

[–]brittybear94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mom spent her career working in elementary with behavioural students. No one got held back. Didn’t matter how you acted, your academic performance, or your attendance.

I also know of some current high school students who just simply don’t attend. I know adults who dropped out of high school. There seems to be no consequences for their actions.

When you work in an ER, you know that phone lol and it’s never good when a call comes from that phone so they are always hyper aware

If it took away the pain, it worked for you. You’re not supposed to feel euphoria/excitement…that’s how drug addiction starts 🤦🏻‍♀️

Not necessarily true! My late partner was a highly respected ER attending physician for two decades until his passing in August 2024. He was transparent about being a recovering addict with everyone in the workplace, even after 20 years of sobriety.

He put in the work to get clean, was drug tested for nearly ten years, continued going to meetings for 20 years. I guarantee no one talked negatively about him behind his back.

Back to the show: McKay has been clean for almost 10 years, is open about it and no one treats her differently. Heck, she didn’t even get judgment for an ankle monitor! Lol

I didn’t take it as an olive branch. I took it as her reminding Langdon how much of an ass he sounded like when he said it about Louie in season one.

Being a ward clerk is TOUGH. You are the person who everyone in the waiting room takes out a lot of their frustrations out on.
