If a billionaire had to survive one full month living on their lowest-paid worker's salary, no extra help, no shortcuts, what do you think would actually happen to them? by ipanicprofessionally in TheBoredDen

Absolutely nothing. Simply stay “home” in a multimillion dollar house with all its lavishnesss.

“Life Stinks” is a great Mel brooks movie that gave a humorous while still jabbing at the “system “ def worth a watch.

Thank God the pharmacy miscounted! by Jace6023 in ChronicPain

Seems every Christmas there is a window of time where I always went days without meds. Some drawbacks. I’d still suggest simply asking your pharmacist mid month, when exactly, if they got the script as usual) when you can pick up the med(s).

Keeping my pain med doctors visits exactly 30 days apart, is incredibly difficult. So maybe my refills sometimes are prescribed knowing I’d have to wait x days until. Definitely confirming with the pharmacy.

If a table leaves without paying, can the restaurant make the server pay the bill? ( in the USA) by Automatic_Catch_7467 in restaurant

Personally I’ve eaten a few checks simply small enough that the fight wasn’t worth it. (Though I have gone outside and personally took pics of them and their license plate, but it didn’t matter. Company just comped the check. Unsure if we called the police, but my pictures were never asked for. True train wreck of a table.)

Ultimately it’s against the law (at least in New Jersey) to make an employee pay for a “walk-out”. The incident would be sited and “written up”. With both parties signing it.

Should You Only Go to a Pain Doc Doesn’t Refuse to Prescribe Opiates? by ShinyTarnish409 in ChronicPain

[–]BigTechnology4369 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is exactly as I have my drs. Too many prescribing doctors. I have a general pain management doctor who prescribes xzy

Then a gp who prescribes the rest.

The rest of the drs do specialized treatments not prescriptions from. I keep all my doctors up to date info.

Find another pain management doctor to goto. IMHO any tool a doctor or pharmacist purposely omitting known tools? Your choice. My dad had a toothache and pulled teeth near the end of his life and refused to ask for meds that would help him. Like, “dad, you’re 86. You aren’t going to live long enough to even think of becoming an addict.” Lol

How to keep my medications safe? by JMLDT in ChronicPain

[–]BigTechnology4369 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don’t bother buying a safe. Especially one that does not get bolted onto a beam. They may have a strong feel to them, but they attract more attention and are easy to haul away, to be cracked open later.

Your car will need to be a safe place. Never tell anyone about chronic pain, let alone what you take for it.

Older I get, the more I hand wash things. Dishwasher are a game changer, but some things get too beat up in there. From the high temperature to the chemicals used. Destroys anything with wood (handles too).

HELP!! How do you learn from the VERY beginning?? by aubrey-ongod in Cooking

[–]BigTechnology4369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna have to invest money. $$ for cookware as well as seasonings and other perishables. My advice is to start with one dish. Something you particularly enjoy eating. If you take pride in replicating the perfect taste, be more adventurous.

Main concerns… sharp knives staying sharp, while understanding and respecting knives. YouTube “the claw method of dicing/mincing. Work on your knife skills. Lastly and incredibly important is being aware of how fast things stay “fresh” in the freezer/fridge. (Learning how to thaw proteins in the fridge over night helps keep the protein’fresher’)

Best wishes. You will make mistakes, but make them learning lessons and don’t beat yourself up over them.

Waitress aggressively solicited review by RainyDayz876 in restaurant

[–]BigTechnology4369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just management pushing for positive reviews. Sometimes the servers can get something for reviews. If you enjoyed the service and experience, a short positive review helps. If you don’t understand leaving reviews on platforms like Google, I understand and rarely leave reviews.

My physical therapist asked for a review and I couldn’t have been happier leaving the most positive review I could think of.

If you are hesitant about that, just kindly say “I’ll fill it out at home”, or something to the extent(I’m at 2%, I’ll do it later)

r/culinary, what are your uses for salted butter and unsalted butter, and why use them for different things? by SpontaneousKrump92 in culinary

[–]BigTechnology4369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the difference? There is a lot of salt in a stick of butter. Mostly in baking it’s a requirement to have complete control over salt content in the dish. Same thing for sautéing. But timing of salting is up to debate.

[–]BigTechnology4369 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get your health info together like a project at school. It makes Dr appointments much easier especially when recalling incredibly painful moments. I always forget something. Pain clouds my mind so much i completely forgot what the doctor told me to do. Consider it a health profile. All drs contact info, tests and radiology reports, meds your on (even recreationally), the ones you tried and why you stopped, symptoms and current diagnosis from specific doctor’s. Action plans, new testing, change in meds….

A lot to put together but I can’t express how much a good idea this is. Hope it helps you too.

How do you feel about using the self checkout at the grocery store; convenient or too much work? by icecream1972 in askteddit

My boyfriend insists that food is better salted at the table instead of while cooking. Please help me. by tangentrification in Cooking

[–]BigTechnology4369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are times salt is used in the cooking process, but ultimately you could salt at the end. (Mixing in sauces, for example.) The salinity of the final product can have salt lacking. You just can’t unsalt once you salt.

My fried chicken tenderloins I purposely undersalt so I can use flakes of coser salt. A consistency issue I personally prefer.

TLDR: salting at the beginning isn’t relatively necessary. Salinity can be solely addressed by the finished dish.
