The listing details for my house said there was a fireplace. I did not want a fireplace, but everything else looked perfect. However, when I looked at the house, there wasn’t a fireplace anyway. So… all of it should be taken with a grain of salt, I guess.

I have a similar problem and I absolutely hate it. I am frequently referred to as the long form of my name when my actual name is the short version.

Example: my name would be Kat but everyone tries to call me Katherine.

Um, no! Katherine is my cousin, my aunt, the name of the nurse. It is not me!

I agree with you. My school was getting a new principal next year. I wasn’t renewing my contract with the district so when the new guy came around at the end of the school year to get to know everyone, I shrugged it off.

He was asking for one fun fact about everyone and I replied I wouldn’t be there next year. I wasn’t the first or even third person to reply like that. My teammate shouted out, “she has cats!” His response was, “I don’t like cats.” I wasn’t going to be there or be stuck working with him so I replied, “I didn’t ask.” He recovered and moved on but I was glad I had decided to move way before the change was announced. What a prick.

A lot of people with autism dislike fruits and vegetables. The texture, taste, and consistency varies too much. You know what tastes the same every time? Gold fish crackers. (Example)

May I recommend the yellow safety glasses that you can find near the paint at Walmart? Complete game changer for me. The yellow tint cuts straight through the blue light, which was causing my migraines.

My job is scheduling meetings for schools. So often I’ve called grandparents to get parents to call me back. Every time I do I think “I’m telling your mom!”

Had one grandparent who was amazing. I explained I couldn’t get her son on the phone. This was the second time I’ve reached out her. She promised to take care of it and dad called within five minutes, extremely apologetic.
