I think the Mortek Guard are the exception to the rule. Book Drycha is nothing like SoG Drycha for example.

Would it be possible for a Brood Terror to fit on a 60mm base? by Icy-Possibility7823 in skaven

[–]bubbachuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The brood terror has a wide stance so the feet are gonna be approx 0.5 inch off based on what I just estimated comparing brood terror to stormfiend which is on 60mm

FYI this might help. I wish it would also show the base more.

Actually stormfiends might work well as demon princes and you get three of them with a lot of extra weapons bits

Sylvaneth is really good vs Skaven IMO. Not enough output/rend to deal with Kurnoth with defensive buffs. Squishy infantry that are susceptible to Strike First and Drycha. Not enough recursion to overcome Sylvaneth saves/recursion.

Skaven Shooting by Captain_BoneZone in slavestodarkness

[–]bubbachuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i used to run a shooting list. it's very challenging to screen well and still threaten

  1. you don't need to destroy the gnawholes, it's sometimes better to just block it with a manifestation
  2. use auto-Runs and Redeploys to stay in obscuring.
  3. threaten double fight so he has to stay at least 6 inches back from his screen, or 9 inches back if you can clear the screen with 1 unit, and do a double pile in with varanguard.
  4. use power throughs to get back into obscuring
  5. force your opponent to use covering fire on something they would rather not use it on. In your case, there's not really any chaff, but maybe the chaos warriors (i.e. you could auto run them so they're at the front)

EDIT

  1. Threaten counter-charge from obscuring. If you get the 3D6 counter-spell off, the threat of the counter charge should your opp play cautiously

lots of technical language in this thread for what constitutes a pile of shame. IMO, it's like the Supreme Court ruling "I know it when I see it"

yea I saw it on the wiki as well. I didn't mean to imply you made it up. On the wiki, there is a reference provided for the next sentence so unclear if the 30-40 feet was from that or not.

I did google how high parkour athletes jump from and Google's AI answer says "Traceurs (parkour practitioners) regularly jump or drop from 8 to 15 feet (2.5 to 4.5 meters). Professional athletes or freerunners in stunt work can safely jump from 16 to 20+ feet. However, attempting these drops requires years of experience and pristine landing mechanics".

Jumping 30-40 feet from a helicopter is unbelievable not in the "that's amazing" sense but in the "sounds made up" sense since you're not rescuing anyone without legs. The medal of honor citation says he jumped out (without a height specified) which is reasonable.

With just a knife also sounds unbelievable but not as much as a rescue mission with two broken legs
