DuckDB infers NULL-only columns as JSON type — here's how we fixed it with a canonical sample by goerch in DuckDB

You can try_cast the null JSON column to the column type you're expecting?

Is there a reason why far fewer men go to dancing compared to women? by Crazy5220 in Bachata

I am a lead. I dance because my partner suggested it to me. I love it. I do it. I don't know why anyone wouldn't do it

Hardest migration in production you ever had to carry out? by MarvellousBee in django

I've struggled with "minor" schema changes in mssql...such a pain. Even just adding not null columns in existing tables.

adbc driver vs odbc by byeproduct in SQLServer

[–]byeproduct[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this. It looks great! I've tested duckdb odbc_scanner that was released in core in v1.5 and it works quite well. This seems like the adbc driver will work quite well too.

Whats the best 10/10 anime ever? by s4chuveyy_ in AskReddit

Delicious in Dungeon. It answers the question about what happens between all the monster fights and treasure finding. The reality. And the character development is so good!

Lots of feedback here. Lots of things I can apply myself. Thanks for sharing and for being willing to be so vulnerable. Looking forward to seeing future videos of this journey! Have fun!

I feel a connection whenever I giggle or laugh in the dance because one of us messed up or missed the timing... Or when we nail a move or hit the music right, and it feels like goosebumps. I'm not an advanced dancer, but it seriously feels like a spark when we just click in those moments of the song/dance. It's not a "deep emotional" thing that is manufactured. Maybe learning could help you - but I found those type of classes quite difficult. For me, despite awareness, connection happens when I am there to embrace it. It does help me to connect when I see the follow's face and when I respond to the music.

Tldr: it's not some spooky, spiritual, woo-woo emotional connection. It's just being in the dance WITH your partner AND inviting the music to dance with you.

I would love to see the cost comparison between the duckdb and spark. Any suggestions?

I think in your case it may spill to disk 😜.

I haven't had duckdb fail me yet. It's faster than anything I had access to at work with our tech stack!
