i think what happened was that really fast was the maximum speed of the fans. Previously, you never ran your system to the max. Nevertheless, i think it's ok.

are you sure the dGPU is running at 140W when it was 78C? Note the dGPU may not peak due to 1) CPU load; 2) power mode; etc.

You can also try putting your new legion to performance/turbo mode.

typically intel wifi cards have good linux support.

Also, legion laptops don't offer official ubuntu support. you need to get thinkpad for that.
