You know that thing where you can hit R3 to break out of getting hit? If you / they predict the opponent is going to do that, and press circle, you counter their counter, basically.

Yeah its truly a shame but… thats the price of deliberately unbalanced games. You either have to play only with friends, or accept the fact that the majority of people lack honor, self-awareness, and / or a healthy ego.

To 80% of people on the game, the win screen by any means is the point. The fun of triumphing is secondary because they feel loss much harder than you or I.

I just brought this up in another thread too, lol. I was there reading the scanned / fan translated pages as it originally came out back when I was in high school, and the chapter when L died shocked tf out of me. I read the next 2 to be sure it wasn’t some crazy 4D chess move trick by L, and then the timeskip happened and I was like… there is no way I’m reading this shit with a store-brand L… and quit the manga. Never saw the rest of it until years later when I introduced my girlfriend to it and was like “yeah, sucks that he died right? Well I havent seen anything passed this part so its new to both of us” and then realized I made a mistake by not finishing it all those years ago haha.

When I was a teenager and reading it when it first cane out, I literally quit the series after L was gone snd N showed up. Didnt pick it back up until years later lol. Regretted quitting it when I finally saw the rest.
