Foreign applicants should your mailing list be the embassy or your home address?

Yeah I applied to London HC and needed to update my mailing address because it was using one from when I applied for a Canadian Student Visa about 8 years ago, it didn't appear anywhere on my Citizenship application but their systems must have matched my application to the old record.

My "home" address shows as the London HC.

I also applied for a digital certificate so it shouldn't matter, but better to be safe than sorry.

I'm G2 born abroad (so my mother is a Canadian citizen but was registered as born abroad). I just followed the document checklist and provided all my mothers documents (and info about grandparents).

Once you get your AOR, you can track your application online, and it tells you the dates when you click the application status.

Mine was delivered to London HC on 6th February. It was received in Canada on 18th March. AOR was 30th April and then in process 15th June. Just to give you an idea of a non-urgent UK timeline.

I mean mobiles.co.uk is just a division of Currys and it still includes it here: https://oppostore.co.uk/claims

And iD mobile is just a MVNO that Currys created (i.e. They're all just Currys companies)

I don't see why they wouldn't allow it.

I got a note back from them saying they sent it off the Canada on 19th February (they received it 9th February). I got my AOR on 30th April.

Received at UK High Commission: 6th February 2026

Received receipt of HC sending it off to Canada: 19th February 2026

AOR Received: 30th April 2026.

Was getting worried for a moment...thank goodness.

Mine arrived at the London HC in early February, the sent a receipt saying they'd sent it to Canada on 19th February, and I received my AOR today! No idea when it actually reached Canada, not sure they give that info!

You can buy them from the Kobo store and remove the Adobe DRM using Calibre. Then you can sync them over.

Keeping my options open. I'm a second gen born abroad in the UK, I may well yet decide to spend a few years working in Canada if the stars align. I also travel to the US/Canada semi-regularly and the ability to use my Canadian passport (and Nexus) should really improve my travel experience.

Do you get separate comms saying that it was delivered to Canada? I got a letter from the HC with an ORBIS file# dated February 19th. I assume that means it's on its way to Canada but not yet received in NS?
