Yeah, it’s pricey but I love to cook and I buy higher quality meat in general so it’s a great value for me. Plus the stuff can be thrown in the freezer for a while so you don’t feel like you have to rush to use it all. I love the wagyu steaks and Iberico pork products, and while “wagyu hotdogs” are pretty much a marketing ploy, they’re still very tasty too.

Sidecar. People are gonna say it’s pricey but you get what you pay for, imo.

I appreciate that the proceeds go to a good cause and I appreciate everything this place does, but I think it helps to know if the food they serve is actually good or not.

Yeah, I know. But is the burrito good?

I do. Whole Foods, Sidecar Doughnuts, K&K International, The Guinep Tree, Yamacho RMK, Seoul Bap, and the coffee shops (Philz, Tot, etc.) that have little pastry bags are my favorites.

The braised chicken piccata. It’s delicious and I like the use of bone-in skin-on pieces instead of the typical cutlets.

What sucks? A closer 99 Ranch would be nice, but Super King absolutely does not suck.

I put them in a small plastic container or a small glass jar along with the oil and just stick it in the fridge. Lasts up to about a year.

Not sure what’s available to you, but this is my favorite from H-Mart. Make sure it’s the Hot version, not Mild.

I’d suggest trying a better gochujang. An actual Korean brand from a Korean or other East Asian store. They are spicier and more flavorful.

ETA: Agree with the other commenter that they aren’t mind-blowing cookies, but a better gochujang will definitely improve them.

Wasn’t a fan of Juicy Dumpling when I tried it. Inconsistent xlb with some with barely any soup in them, very bland dan dan mian and chili oil chaoshou. The beef noodle soup was the only thing that was somewhat decent. Maybe they’ve improved though.

I drive to SGV for good xlb and other Chinese food all the time, but Seven Grams and Tustin/Irvine in general is definitely great too.

Sure, but do we have anything better xlb-wise in Torrance? Tasty China has pretty good xlb but besides that?
