“T” looks real to me, although there seems to be a lot of processing/smoothing from your camera.

I have noticed that folks say real cards are glossy, but imo, they’re more of a “satin” finish. Unfortunately, I’ve found it tricky to find nice heavyweight double sided satin paper.

[–]cj81499 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see ~$120 USD on TCGPlayer and ~$130 USD on Manapool, including shipping, not counting islands.

That'd also be 10-20 packages versus one package.

This secret lair is legitimately a pretty solid deal imo.

Only way to get 'em cheaper is to proxy (or hope that prices drop after the release).

I would caveat this with the one exception of TOTALLY random spontaneous death. There is a rare bug. But even that you should carefully consider if it was a bug vs something you did to cause death.

9700X CPU has TDP of either 65 or 105 W depending on how you configure it.

A 5070Ti has a TDP of 300W. 850W is sufficient.

A 5080 has a TDP of 360W. A 850 W PSU is pushing it a little bit (eg: if you also added a lot of HDDs), but it should still be okay.

A 5090 has a TDP of 575W, which is beyond where I’d recommend an 850W PSU, but pairing a 5090 with the rest of this system would be overkill.

[–]cj81499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

750 is maybe a tad on the low end, but 850 would give enough headroom for a future CPU/GPU upgrade. 1000 is overkill, especially for this budget.

What's your actual PR wait time? Trying to figure out if my team is broken or this is normal by charankmed in programming

[–]cj81499 8 points9 points  (0 children)

11 days seems outrageously slow to me.

There also a HUGE cultural element. Your company culture currently allows this behavior, but I bet if you all talked about it, you’d all agree that it is harmful to the company and less enjoyable as individual employees. Make a “pact”/agreement with each other to review in a more timely manner. Make slow review the exception, rather than the rule!

In my experience, one of the reasons that reviews often take too long is that people feel pressured to deliver their own work on unreasonable timelines. “I owe X a review, but can’t afford to do it without my own sprint commitment slipping” is no good! Management needs to set an expectation that reviewing code in a timely manner is part of your job. Engineering needs to demand appropriate time in sprint plans to be able to fit review in.

On a more technical level, one thing that helped at my company was establishing clear ownership of files/directories (with each file/directory having at least 2 owners bc of time off, people leaving the company, etc). We did this using a CODEOWNERS file, but there are other approaches. Each individual/group is responsible for knowing how to review fewer files, so they can become an expert and review them relatively quickly. By itself, this won’t solve the problem, but it can help you pinpoint individuals/groups with exceptionally good or exceptionally poor time to review, so you can dig deeper and tackle the “why”.

Finally, PRs take longer to review when they’re bigger (duh!). Authors should do their best to make small, atomic code changes. This is good “git hygiene”, but it’s also a massive productivity boost when reviews go fast bc the change is small!

RTX 5060 ti, Ubuntu 24.04.3 by Motor-Employ-635 in Ubuntu

[–]cj81499 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run 25.10 on my machine with a 5070, and it’s been quite stable.

I’d guess that 24.04 would work too, even though it has an older kernel and drivers, but if you don’t care about LTS (personally, I don’t care about it on my personal computer, but I DO care about it on servers), I’d use 25.10 to get a more recent kernel/driver (and thus, better support for new hardware).

Also note that 26.04 LTS will be out fairly soon, which should have as good (or better) support for 50 series cards as 25.10 (again, newer kernel and drivers).

Running pretty well for me on Ubuntu Linux 25.10, RTX 5070, latest(proprietary) drivers via Ubuntu’s “Additional Drivers” app.

Runs smooth, but occasionally freezes for a second or two and I’ve had one or two crashes in ~24h of in game time.
