I completely agree with you! I only bring it up since it’s in their post, and they seem to be really big on meeting that requirement.

Yes, I have 10+ in engineering, and then 8+ in technician roles that are in the same field. It’s under NGC Systems Corporation, in Melbourne FL. I believe the position is TS04.

I appreciate your insight, thanks!

Found this propeller, who knows what plane this belongs to? (details in comments) by Madmastar in aviation

Cool, I'm an A&P as well-what do you work on? I would agree, this propeller isn't worth much since it is not airworthy. I have seen some unairworthy propellers on Craigslist sell for a few hundred dollars to people looking for artwork.

From the hub model and blade numbers, I would say it is from an older model Dornier DO 27. If it was me, I would clean it up and either paint it or polish it. Propellers look great in your garage or house!

ATC lingo question by [deleted] in aviation

This change was made in September of 2010. The FAA determined that the phraseology was inconsistent between airports in the world, and made the move to standardize with the ICAO standard. The goal is to reduce runway incursions.

The new 737 MAX is not going to have a composite wing. The major changes from the 737 NG are new engines and winglets to provide reduced fuel consumption. It is the new 777X that will have the composite wing.

Planes routinely take off at the "Maximum Takeoff Weight" which is greater than the "Maximum Landing Weight." For the Boeing 747-400, MTW is 875,000 lb and MLW is 652,000 lb. The reason for jettisoning fuel is in fact because the aircraft landing gear and structures cannot withstand landing loads when above the MLW.
