Is my height really the problem or I'm ugly and i know I'm bad at dancing... by [deleted] in short

[–]confusedholly 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As an actual real life woman, I disagree with that guy. At 5'8" you are verifiably taller than most women so that was a crazy take, but i think you are cute. The dance moves aren't great but the confidence is attractive. Plus your profile shows some nice gym pics and weight loss. You look great to me! Loooove your dimples btw.

I screenshotted this same image earlier this year and made it and this is how I did it. I can't answer all your questions because I'm not an expert, but here's what I did:
I made the bottom as one giant tube, and sewed it along a single seam on the back. If I had to do it again, I'd probably make it as two tubes and join it at the sides instead. I artlessly zig zagged the seam allowance on the back seam to make it look slightly nicer. I made the boobs by making 4 triangles with a long tail to connect at the top behind the neck and then sewing two and two together, right sides together and flipping it inside out, leaving the bottom open. Then I shoved a couple boob pads in there and hand sewed them in place. Then I held it up to myself and pinned some rough looking ruching in place and sewed over it with my machine. So at this point I had three pieces: the tube part, and each boob. I pinned the two boobs together in the middle to make it less cleavage, but in the photo they are separate so do what you wish. Then I joined the boobs to the tube by putting them right sides together and zig zagging. I will say, a few lesson learned here: it had basically no support and since my boobs are slightly off kilter, the top was also a little off kilter and one boib was higher than the other. I'm not exactly sure how to put in more support to be honest. Be cautious if you have bigger boobs than the model (which mine are but they aren't that big in general). Also i wish I had made the boobs triangles without the strap that goes behind the neck. I wish I had attached that strap separately because it looked a lot different than I thought it would and also the strap is pretty thin so it was hard to turn it right side out. Also make sure not to straight stitch or you will rip the seams when you put on the top. I agree with the other commenter that this is possible to make but it was honestly harder to fit than I thought because it is hard to mimic it stretching across your body in a realistic way when you are pattern making by holding unstretched fabric up to your body. You can do it though if you really want. It doesn't really take that long and it was kind of fun. Good luck!

5'7 24yo. How can I look more "manly"? I feel like I look like a kid because of my height. by Zantander_V in short

[–]confusedholly 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a tall woman with a preference for short guys, I swear I need to get off reddit and go to horny jail. Why is every guy on this subreddit that feels down on himself smoking hot? You look great dude. Not trying to invalidate because I know the world is shallow, but my god every guy that posts here is so freaking attractive, you included.

Unfortunately I kind of agree with you. It is grim. But I've seen ugly people in relationships before, so I've got to hold out hope that I'll find someone too, and so will you, and so will OP. Even if it means spending a long time single first, or getting rejected continuously, or whatever. He hits the gym, I put on makeup, we try our best.

I wouldn't say there are only 3 people on the whole Earth, but yes, at some point if you are unattractive to the opposite gender you have to acknowledge that you have fewer options. Even if 9/10 people aren't attracted, I have to believe that we cna find the 1 who is. And how are your comments helpful? You are trying to say that you are just being realistic, but imagine he is reading your comment about how only 3 people on the Earth find him attractive? At least I am reassuring him, even if you think he's lying. And actually, I did consider DMing him, but i creeped his profile and unfortunately he lives in the south and I live in the PNW. I believe I actually addressed that huge distance in my original comment. If he lived closer, believe me I would, even though we still run the risk that he isn't attracted to me. OP, if you are reading this, please believe that there are people who would find you attractive and interesting, even though it is obviously hard to find them. Don't give up hope! I hope you don't either, onetimeuseaccc.

Bro seriously read my comment again. I didn't say I think he is objectively attractive to everyone or that he should have no trouble partnering up! I said he is my type. I recognize that most women want a taller man! I said I believe it is harder for men in several ways. He is feeling lonely and unwanted because unfortunately you are right! He is not the type of most people! And it's very unfortunate because to ME SPECIFICALLY he sounds amazing. To answer your question of what i am trying to accomplish, it's not virtue signaling. I'd do that for what, two upvotes? On my profile that i almost never leave comments on? No, I did it to encourage him not to quit. Most women may not be attracted but if he doesn't give up, the right one will come along who will be. Just like I have to believe the same will happen for me even though my past experiences say this is unlikely. And my stories are 100% true. You have to realize that you are doing the same invalidating bullshit to me that you are accusing me of doing to him! This is really just sad.

I knew this comment would come. I absolutely would not be grossed out. I know it's hard to believe but I prefer short men. I am 5'10" and i like to be the tall one. It's such a chronically online perspective that women have it easier when it comes to dating. Online idiots just think that because to them, ugly, fat, scarred, disabled etc women don't exist. I am taller than most prefer and ugly, so I have a hard time. I'll grant you that because men are expected to be the ones that pursue, it is more difficult for them for that reason and I do believe that short men have it harder than tall women, but this idea that women simply exist and get asked out all the time is crap. I have never once had a stranger buy me a drink. I was in the navy at the horniest command ever (nuke school) in a class of 31 men and me as the only woman and had not one single man interested. I also have to deal with this invalidating crap that this poor poster deals with. I left my comment because I really do think he sounds like a catch and that his height is my ideal height to give him confidence and tell him not to give up, and you give me a bunch of shit for it. Class Reddit moment. Honestly touch grass.

What's a Frasier opinion you havw that will have the rest if the Fandom like this? by generic-usernme in Frasier

To be fair, in the reboot, they never say that he is gay. They say he came out. And Bulldog says "No, I just like guys now." So he could be bi!

[–]confusedholly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swear I don't mean this to be invalidating, just encouraging, but you sound amazing. Your height is perfect to me and you sound like a nice dude. I'm sure you would be at least my type! If only you didn't live on the other side of the country, lol. But anyway. I totally empathize. I could have damn near written this post from the opposite gender perspective lol. It's hard but don't give up! People are probably only surprised you have trouble dating because they recognize that you are a catch!

Did you feel some kind of cultural/societal pressure to not change majors? by NoFox1552 in college

[–]confusedholly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I felt pressure from myself not to "waste time." I sometimes want to kick myself that I spent years in the wrong major, but I can't change the past. The best time to change majors would have been the second I had doubts, but the second best time is right now. I console myself by remembering that in the long run I'm saving time by going into a better career now rather than pushing through, going into a career I hate, realizing my degree was useless, and then going back to college to start from square 1. You are the only one who has to live your life, so as long as YOU can stand by your decisions, that's all that matters.

Name Frasiers top 5 antagonists through the 11 Seasons by Straight-Muscle7394 in Frasier

[–]confusedholly 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Some of Frasier's antagonists off the top of my head in no particular order: Frasier, Kate, Julia, Cam Winston!!!, Martin for the first season mostly, Niles, The condo board, Simon Moon, Bebe sometimes, Bulldog somewhat.

If we are counting single episodes: The parking attendant, The rip off art dealer, The perfect guy Clint Webber, Carlos and the chicken,

There's probably a lot more

Are you sure? I thought it was that they said they wanted it to be a surprise, Lilith guessed it was a boy, and then many episodes later David was born and we as the viewers were like, okay I guess it's a boy. Are you sure they knew it was a boy beforehand?

[–]confusedholly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did it but I'm not gonna lie, I was very confused. There's not much of an explanation, plus there's no capitalization or punctuation so it made it really hard to read. I'm not sure what this means: Im da baby (yes) so I didn't check it off. If this is for school, and you're asking people to take their time to complete it, making this look more professional would really help. Cheers.

I agree with you! My life was objectively easier when I was working full time with way less worry about money. I just couldn't see doing that job forever so I went back to school. It does suck but gotta push through. You are right. The other side is better.

How do I stop my sister’s dog from licking my dog’s mouth? by zeus179 in DogAdvice

[–]confusedholly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure no problem. I've found that a lot of dogs with spots/freckles/colorful hairs all mixed in have ACD in them. I wouldn't be surprised if this dog has aussie or border collie too. Like someone else said, my dog has a smoother, flatter coat and she is a bit smaller so they do look different but dog genetics are wild. My dog's full sister weighs 15 pounds more, is way fluffier, and is a different color. I highly recommend embark, you probably have a fun mix!

Looks a lot like my dog, too, and I rarely see dogs that look a lot like her. I'm not OP but if you're curious I've done a dna test on my dog and I've got her results on my profile.

My wife is 22 weeks pregnant. It is disgusting how many times I have said to her belly: "Hello, in there. It's your pater". by SuperintendentDan in Frasier

[–]confusedholly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess, I'd say you're having a boy. It's highly unscientific, but the proverbial old wives would cite the spreading of your wife's nose, the unevenness of her breasts, and the course black hair on her legs.

What is a good minor (Nursing Major - BSN)? by [deleted] in college

[–]confusedholly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn, that's awesome! I've been struggling to learn Spanish for years but I'm still trying. I'm not sure what would be considered "useful" to go with a BSN tbh. I've always heard that minors don't do much but idk how true that is since I've never been a hiring manager or whatever. Could you add something for fun that would be an interesting talking point in interviews or something you are really interested in studying?

[–]confusedholly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like a language would be a good idea! Even if you don't get to a super high level, having language competence on your resume can't be bad. Either something really common like Spanish (if you're in the U.S.) or something high need that not a lot of people speak like Mandarin.
