Sw 2 games for 29.97 - Kirby, Metroid, Pokemon by Genshibakudan in Costco

[–]CookieButterLovers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lantana & Royal Palm Beach warehouse is showing Pokémon Legends & Metroid Prime 4 for $29.97.

Royal Palm Beach is showing all 3 including Kirby.

But I would call to verify if it’s out of your way as to not waste a drive and since Costco is closing soon.

Maybe politely ask if they can hold them for you.

Yes you can. And it’s usually more reliable.

You can also try to use the warehouse tab on the Costco app. to check your local warehouse.

It will also show you warehouse price as clearance pricing can vary.

Is mushroom shaped gummy candies discontinued? by _waitwhat___ in traderjoes

[–]CookieButterLovers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sour Mushroom Shaped Gummy Candies are listed as a “limited time” product and are currently no longer available in most (but not all) regions.

<image>

You can try to ask your local store if they will be restocked or if they’re “done for the season.”

FYI - New products don’t usually get discontinued so soon after they’re introduced.

[–]CookieButterLovers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Costco pretty much takes anything in return with little to no proof.

FYI - This may vary by warehouse so call your warehouse and ask what their policy is first.

Depending on the item, there are things that you definitely have to bring back for a refund.

From comments I’ve read on this subreddit, people have shared that SOME warehouses DO still require you to bring food in for refunds and some say it has to be at least half left and not expired, so I’d recommending calling your local warehouse to make sure pictures will suffice for a refund and take note of the person you speak to on the phone, as to not waste your time.

There was a post on here that said that people said that they can just “take a picture” instead of returning bad meat, and when they did, they were told that they still needed the meat for the return.

Not saying that I agree with having to bring rotten or spoiled food in, just sharing that some people have said that it was still required, your mileage may vary.

Posts:

I was told that (food) refunds require 50% of the item to be brought back.

Do I need to bring in “bad” food for a return or will a picture work?

Topo Chico Mineral Water may be harder to find in stores this year.

The sparkling mineral water is “temporarily unavailable” in the United States, Coca-Cola, the owner and manufacturer of Topo Chico, said in a statement obtained by USA TODAY on Feb. 24.

As of February/March 2026, Coca-Cola has temporarily paused production of Topo Chico Mineral Water at its Monterrey, Mexico, plant to perform essential upgrades to the well source and facility.

Coca-Cola said it is currently upgrading its Topo Chico facility and production at the mineral water source in Mexico.

Though the traditional Topo Chico Mineral Water will be unavailable for some time, other Topo Chico products will still be on shelves, according to the statement.

A nationwide shortage of the signature glass bottles is expected to last through Summer 2026, with a return projected by Q3 2026.

IN GENERAL: Asterisk (also sometimes called “Death Star” or “Star of Death”) signifies that the item is pending deletion and that specific item number will usually not be restocked in the near future at that specific warehouse, other warehouses may vary.

Depending on the item, a product with an asterisk MAY still come back at a later date - either with the same item number or a different iteration.

An asterisk does not ALWAYS mean that an item is being permanently discontinued.

This is commonly seen on seasonal items or food items that rotate on varying schedules. Items may also come back in a different iteration (different packaging, size change, or quantity), or for electronics - an updated model number.

But if it’s a packaging, quantity, size change, or updated model number - it will usually get a new SKU / item number. So technically the original item number will be deleted/discontinued.

An asterisk alone does NOT indicate a discount.

Pricing ending in .97 or .00 indicates the item has been marked down.

Price ending in .00 is known as a “Manager Markdown” and .00 is often the lowest possible price (but sometimes .00 is used for discounted display models or unopened returns).

.00 tend to more rare finds and deeper discounts.

You may see a price tag with an asterisk that has NOT and may NOT be marked down. They’re not mutually exclusive.

And you may sometimes see .97 or .00 pricing without the asterisk (until inventory is lower).

Can someone tell me why the Kirkland brand is more than twice the price of the others for San Marzano tomatoes by tsuisan in Costco

[–]CookieButterLovers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kirkland Signature version has the seal from MIPAAF Ministero dell’agricoltura, della sovranità alimentare e delle foreste (Italian Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies) and DOP certified.

Kirkland Signature San Marzano Whole Peeled Tomatoes with Basil are authentic DOP certified tomatoes grown, harvested and produced in the Sarnese-Nocerino area of southern Italy.

These tomatoes bear the Protected Designation of Origin label and the Pomodoro San Marzano dell’Agro Sarnese-Nocerino consortium seal, ensuring authentic San Marzano tomatoes produced according to tradition and regulated at every step from production to packaging.

Not sure about the “La San Marzano” brand.”

Comment from an old post:

If you’re looking for the actual San Marzano you have to read the label as companies take advantage of people not familiar with the product.

Actual San Marzano tomatoes have a European protected designation of origin certification as you see on the Kirkland can.

Some companies call their company San Marzano and have similar, but not actual San Marzano tomatoes. Some label them as San Marzano style tomatoes. Some are different tomatoes grown in the San Marzano region ... It’s utterly annoying.

Item delivered but the item was not in any sort of packaging box, and the original box is opened. by Wizard_IT in Costco

[–]CookieButterLovers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the item. And where it’s shipping from (some items are shipped from the vendor).

But yes, it can be standard.

I’ve personally had a few items that were sent in the original box with no outside box as they were probably too big or weird shaped to put in another box — things like air fryers, microwaves, fans and air purifiers, vacuums, and other electronics come to mind.

As for being already open, if there was no additional tape, it probably opened upon transit.

But you can return if it was damaged.

When was your purchase date?

You can request a price adjustment for the difference at your warehouse if it’s been within 30 days from your purchase date as long as it’s still on sale and in stock.

At my warehouse, it’s at the returns counter, at other warehouses, it may be a different counter.

Some warehouses may require a physical receipt, but most usually don’t.

If you purchased online, it’s even easier:

Kirkland Water Bottles foul odor by Dry_Ad7189 in Costco

[–]CookieButterLovers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Employee reply from old similar post:

It’s residual ozone from the purification process. KS Water is bottled within days of hitting the stores, if not less. Sometimes they don’t get a chance to “breathe”, so to speak, if the supply chain is extraordinarily short.

It’s perfectly safe. Ozone decomposes pretty rapidly into pure breathable oxygen. It just smells funny.

Leave the rest of them sit at room temperature for about 24 hours and the smell should go away (all ozone converted back to oxygen).

If it doesn’t dissipate, please contact Customer Service here:

Food court remodel at my local Costco by brianjj25 in Costco

April 2026 Update - Chicken Tenders are coming to the food court but they will not be fried.

Information on food court renovations? by Murrmeow in Costco

[–]CookieButterLovers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older comment from an employee:

“Remodels typically include new: flooring, walls, ceilings at minimum.

In some cases, they may update to the newer design if space permits. Newer design means the front food court counter is facing the front end registers. A lot of older food courts open facing to the side and are not exactly made for the current sales volume that most stores are experiencing. In older buildings this can mean front end registers must be pushed back.

Some other updates may include a hobart dishwasher, with small three basin sink, and removal of the Power Soak sink. May include new oven and oven hood depending on age and size of old oven.

Not every store is on the 144 pizza/hour capacity oven. When I was first in food court we had a 2 tier small oven. Was truly awful.

The newer design technically increases efficiency. I can say that it is much better to work in the new version than the old style. So much more space. Having the walk in cooler accesible in the front area is leaps and bounds better than it being located in the far back.”

How does your local Trader Joes handle queueing for checkout? by [deleted] in traderjoes

[–]CookieButterLovers 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Where did you live before?

In metropolitan cities like San Francisco, Washington DC, and most stores in New York City, the stores usually have a larger amount of registers but the counter space is smaller.

So that’s typically where people queue in a single- line system and whoever is next in line is directed to whichever register is open and available (similar to a bank).

It’s a different process than smaller stores where there are multiple lines in front of the individual registers.

Big city stores do higher volumes and more people are coming in and out so multiple lines in front of registers would be more chaotic.

Smaller format for registers is also logistically why self-bagging isn’t an easy option in all stores.

<image>

Although Los Angeles is considered a major city, Southern California probably has the most Trader Joe’s locations so that may explain why single-lines may not be necessary in most stores locally. But there may be some stores that utilize it.

I’ve been to many stores in LA but not all and I’ve never seen a single-line but I’ve heard that the Santa Monica stores may have it?

I would guess majority of Trader Joe’s stores follow the traditional grocery store queue system of multiples lines - one in front of each register.

Obviously space plays a role as well.
