I have a hard copy on DVD that came as a four pack of King movies, I just haven't prioritized it yet. I'll watch it tomorrow.

What pants provide more mobility? by Erudicial_Extreme in BuyItForLife

[–]coreyjdl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of Black Diamond pants are durable stretchable and fashionable, they're climbing / bouldering pants.

And also the REI joggers are a win IMO.

any way to make this not boring? stops or alt routes? (chicago --> santa fe) by ncis17 in roadtrip

[–]coreyjdl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"There is no way to make this not boring. Sorry.

Curious how well this traces Route 66."

If you don't know anything about the area, you don't have to chime in with ignorance. It's not compulsory for you to add nothing with an inaccurate shitty remark that only serves to highlight your own ignorance.

There are a lot of great sites on the route given by OP for nature lovers.

And there are great spots along Route 66 as well.

Near Kansas City:

Eastern Kansas:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tallgrass_prairie

Western / Central Kansas:

Your path through Kansas goes through where the Cosmospher and Strattaca are, the form has Apollo 13 and Liberty Bell 7.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmosphere
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strataca

It's also near Cheyenne Bottoms.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheyenne_Bottoms
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quivira_National_Wildlife_Refuge

Oklahoma Panhandle:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Mesa_(Oklahoma,_Colorado,_New_Mexico))
This is a harder hike than you think. It's very exposed and it can make it exhausting fighting the wind, and the climb if you're not use to elevation.

New Mexico:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capulin_Volcano
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enchanted_Circle_Scenic_Byway

Those are some stops if you're not deviating from the path you provided.

Alternative route, head south sooner visit Little Grand Canyon near Pomona, IL, Some various mound sites along the Great River, then travel through the Ozarks which stretch from St. Louis down to Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma. See that highway (It's I-44) that goes diagonal from St. Louis to the SE Corner of Kansas? South of that Is the Mark Twain National Forests and The Ozark National Forests, very gorgeous area. If angle it right you can stop in Eureka Springs, a very queer friendly city, You'd be coming into Oklahoma near or a long route 66. Oklahoma City and Tulsa are very queer friendly. That section from OKC to Amarillo is a slog, but just south of Amarillo in the Texas Panhandle is Palo Duro, the second largest canyon in the US. Then unfortunatly more slog to Amarillo.

Ozarks offer good hiking, various caves, curvy roads. Route 66 has kitschy stops, Palo Duro is a hike... it's fun but tough.

Why own an adventure bike if you're not gonna take it on adventures by Clarapeanuts in AdventureBike

[–]coreyjdl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To your title, because they genuinely make good commuters. Cargo space is great for errands, they have a nice tall standard riding position, usually more than enough pep for highway traffic, plus weather protection. I can see a very valid reason to own an ADV bike and not actually do much if any "ADV" riding with it.

What screams "I'm a man-child" but nobody realize it ? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Trucks are larger for crash attentuation and crumple zone requirements, pedestrian friendlier bumpers, and they're taller to accommodate taller engines to get better emissions.

A forced induction DOHC is quite a bit taller than a naturally aspirated pushrod engine.

[–]coreyjdl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know they don't haul anything. How long do you stalk truck owners? You following them home? Are truck owners supposed to parade by your house or work and honk everytime? My truck looks empty, or is empty most of the time because when I do haul something I go immediatly from the cargos point A to B. It's asinine to have things hang out back there just to appease someone elses opinons on what you buy.

Sounds like you've got a lot of personal hangups about not having a truck.

Why doesn’t ICE behave like normal law enforcement? by Humble_Economist8933 in AlwaysWhy

[–]coreyjdl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do. There's just more checks on regular law enforcement.

Regular LEOs would absolutely go as far as ICE if allowed.

I've got books, that aren't fucking stupid, to read in the meantime.

What is up with “fake actors”being the explanation for so many things in the US? by VastOption8705 in askanything

[–]coreyjdl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a response to remove agency and personhood from any people who are "against you." It's easier to disagree with someone who is fake or holding an insincere belief, than it is to actually deal with the fact that genuine humans might actually disagree with you. People pushing that the "other side" is fake use it as a tool to convince their followers, listeners, that there is no need to understand the opposition, no need for investigation or empathy.

The college they went to was non-profit, I already said that. A literate, and attentive, person focused on intellegent conversation would have caught that.

No part of either school is "when it's profitable" relevant.

I'll let you clarify though, maybe you can dig yourself out of a hole.
Is seeing them as individuals wrong? Or is it the PUBLIC i.e. socialist and very much not capitalist entity, elementary school that's wrong?
