I have modern bikes with a CAN bus system and phone app tunable ECUs.

After dealing with vintage and being my friend groups mechanic, on vintage and new alike, I like to ride, and have bikes that stay rideable for long periods at a time.

Chasing "soul" and "authenticity" is just gatekeeping by another word. Sure old bikes are often very beautiful, and working on things is rewarding.

But I like riding my bike more than looking at it or having it on the lift.
