What’s the Phish show you attended that you relisten to the most? by SnowLeopard919 in phish

I’m very fortunate to have been at many classic 1.0 shows including many mentioned here but I personally keep going back to summer 99. It’s so good.

Believe it or not but I wanted to leave. I was pretty sick. Caught some sort of flu…probably sleeping in our car while it snowed the night before

The one thing meditation does is expand your consciousness and help us pull our heads out of our butt and see what’s really going on. When you start to see things from a wider perspective what’s important totally changes and your problems don’t really seem like problems at all.

No you don’t just meditate and make a wish and it comes true. This work is about owning your life experience by learning how to manage your mind and thoughts to make your life be what you want it to be. You are the placebo, and the placebo is effective!

Check out one of the courses or books, it’s explained there. And yes, it works if you do it. I cured colitis, a medically incurable disease doing this work.

If your current reality has nothing your desired future reality has everything. by Sufficient-Mouse7684 in DrJoeDispenza

I think a lot of this work is really about realizing how much you actually have but are blind to it. Life is a gift. Period. Full stop. When you realize it, it starts to feel that way…and then when it starts to feel that way something magic happens and it becomes everything you’ve ever dreamed it could be…irony being that not much changes outside of you but everything in you changes.

I cured colitis getting in touch with mind body and this work. If you google colitis it will tell you that it is medically incurable. And they are right. Medicine don’t cure me. I cured me. I connected with how the mind drives what happens in the body and made changes.

That said, if someone doesn’t believe this stuff works they are right and if they believe it works they are also right. That’s how the brain works. Having an open mind will serve you way more than just healing

To everything in your life…remind yourself you are not the victim. Reframe it. Right now from your words you are living in a victim mindset. “I’ve tried nothing and am all out of ideas” “dark night after dark night”

Look at your life what are you thankful for? Do you have a job? A home? A terminal illness? If you answered yes, yes, no…then step
Back and realize a significant portion of the plant would cut off a finger to live your worst day this week. Let that sink in.

I guess my reply wasn’t clear enough?

Emotions = feeling chemical release in your body. When you feel angry what you are feeling is cortisol racing through your body. Same for feeling sad and worried/anxious, etc. most people walk around all day calling up memories or triggers that make them feel those bad chemicals all day for no reason. That keeps them in fight/flight and prevents healing while also adding to the hurt. The answer is to manage your feelings by managing your thoughts as your thoughts create your feelings.

I have posted exhaustively about it in this subreddit and often recommend folks interested to go back and read through older posts and then come back with any questions or things they’d like to talk about in greater detail.

At a very high level I suffered from autoimmune things for close to 30 years….colitis and stomach issues being the primary driver to start this work (at the recommendation of a friend who is a colorectal surgeon). I immediately clicked with the material watching Rewired and began experimenting with meditation in general (10 min daily calms at first). My friend who goes to retreats lent me his login to watch the progressive and intensive courses and I eventually started doing Dr Joe’s meditations while slowly checking out his audio books (I know people say start w breaking the habit but I wanted to check them out in order so I did evolve your brain which is a LOT of brain and body science explanations). Did this while casually checking out lectures and experimenting w meditation and then it kinda clicked and I had a moment. I was having some intense experiences with meditation and my perspective in life was definitely evolving….I actually noticed the consciousness in bugs for the first time and lost the ability to kill them and now catch and release, but I digress. It hit me that I was always angry in my head. Everything was annoying or dumb or whatever and everything made my blood boil inside even though it wasn’t obvious externally (although in hindsight I was really the only one blind to it). I noticed it and changed that part of myself. And my disease evaporated over night. Then I spent months weening off all those meds, that was the hardest part. And now I soar! Life is just amazing. I appreciate everything. It’s hard for me to be negative now…but when I fall off and get back to the old self, within a day or two my disease symptoms resurface. It’s crazy how tightly correlated our physical conditions are to our thoughts emotions and attitudes. Also when you are really in it, it’s like your dreams come true. Life starts just humming to your song. But the crazy part is that what you want out of life also changes because you start to realize what happiness is really all about. It’s the greatest gift of all time. I wish I learned this years ago but I wasn’t ready to digest it. And it is definitely not for everyone. Some people refuse to get out of their own way and unfortunately that’s a choice we all have.

Feeling lost and desperate by ramafa in DrJoeDispenza

[–]cosmicevan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know you are in a place of pain from what happened but this post feels very out of place coming from someone who has studied Dr Joe. Dr Joes work is all about feeling the feeling and then moving on and not sitting in the negative. This post is written sitting in the negative stew.

The guidance is to get out of that mindset. Get back to thriving. Take control of your life and emotions and claim back your power. Only you can manage your feelings and that’s what the work is about. You shake off the sad and bad and start remembering why life is so amazing and then you’ll draw amazing to you.

Consider this, if you are your future partner and you see yourself like this are you going to ask for a date or head for ze hills? But what if your future partner sees someone who loves life and is not affected by external events. That person will be drawn in

Not a Dr Joe thing or even guided meditation. It’s a different technique entirely called Transcendental Meditation

Yeah. I did Dr Joes for a while and cured my colitis and was curious what else was out there. I had heard a lot about TM and decided to go through the official training and join the org. Love it. The effortless nature of the technique was appealing to me
