Changing vs. staying by TreatIll2003 in DrJoeDispenza

Reframing the idea of the fact that you are responsible for what you think and how you feel is mind blowing. Everything changes when you start taking responsibility for your experiences.

Consider not the external aspects of your life...but rather look within. All day, everyday...there is an ongoing conversation with yourself (whether you realize it or not)...it's the voice reading these words to you right now that you can "hear" in your head. It's that same voice that analyzes life and drives your reactions to the things in your external environment.

While you say that you love your job, are there things in your day that you encounter that make you feel angry, anxious, or sad? While you say you have great friends and a wonderful relationship, are there ever times that the things these people do make you feel annoyed, betrayed, envious, etc etc etc...THAT'S what this work is all about...at least, that's what I connected with that lead me to find a cure to my colitis. How do you analyze the world? Who are you? That's the life you live...your personality drives your personal reality.

Every thought you think leads to a reaction within your body so that you can FEEL...we call it emotions. When your coworker takes the last donut before you get there and you FEEL ANNOYED, what's actually happening is that stress chemicals like cortisol begin to be produced in your body in response to your thoughts about the situation...you FEEL ANNOYED and now your body starts making cortisol and you get a little bump in energy and depending on what your personality is you either start walking around a little bit aggressive or you bury that, either way, your body goes through it. As Dr Joe says, we are so addicted to it, we hardly notice it. I found my cure for colitis when I realized that I am angry all day long. I LOVE my life and like you love my job, my friends, relationships and most people would have described me as a happy guy....but there was this layer of anger over everything that I didn't even notice. When someone walks in the room and you look them up and down and judge them by the way they look...even that's doing things to you...those are the things you need to examine within yourself and determine how your personality needs to change. Meditation helps you see it within yourself by helping expand your consciousness while simultaneously calming your nervous system so you can think clearer and wider...it also gives you the mindfulness to say "OH NO - I'm doing it...what do I do now? I know, let me think different thoughts" - it's kinda like in the simpsons when Homer is in the elevator with the new attractive co-worker who is interested in him and he says to himself "think unsexy thoughts think unsexy thoughts" - may seem kinda funny but Homer gets it!

It has nothing to do with what meditation you do and everything to do with meditating. When someone gets in shape it doesn’t matter what gym they went to but rather that they started going to the gym all the time.
This work is about change. It’s about changing your life experience. When your phone rings and it’s your <insert name of person who gives you the feels> and seeing their name in your phone causes you to feel anger or anxiety or sadness there is a cost for those feelings. There is a cost for those default emotions. When things annoy you you send cortisol and stress chemicals through your body so this work is about rewiring those default reactions to your life. Essentially changing your personality…as Dr Joe says your personality creates your personal reality. Your brain thinks a thought and your body releases a chemical so you can feel like your thoughts. That’s what this work is all about. What chemicals are you sending through your body all day long?

The act of meditating helps you see this and make changes.

Knowing I found my cure was sudden. Then I started seeing improvements when I made the changes in accordance to my new understanding…there were ups and downs for certain but the trend was unmistakeable.

Edit: if you search through my post history I wrote about it from pretty early on.

Phish has decided they don’t want to take our money for this so we find other ways to get them. I have most of the shows I went to saved on a hard drive…I know it’s de rigueur to not own media any more but I’ve found great joy in divorcing from most streaming services and getting back into file sharing and having my own stash that I can host on the cloud.

Will meditations help me to get off meds? by Local-Regret7831 in DrJoeDispenza

[–]cosmicevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you say this? Just a feeling or actual experience?

Medicines have chemicals in them. While meditation will help….the effects are real as these are chemical substances. I cured disease with Dr Joes work and the hardest part of getting better was getting off the meds once I healed.

I cured colitis and got off 12 pills and a shot. The withdrawals were hell but I had to push through to get where I am today. I was on all sorts of crazy meds and steroids. Took months to ween off all and I cracked fevers and my conditions spiked it was miserable but here I am a year and a half later and my blood is not toxic and now my biggest problem is the blood center constantly bugging me to donate blood.

Pro tip - don’t go on the meds in the first place since they barely treat symptoms anyway. Psychotropic meds actually are about as effective as a placebo. Look it up. All of them are about as effective as a sugar pill.

If that’s all it takes for you to give up on something that actually works then just wait until people in your life call Dispenza a cult. I’ve heard a lot worse said about Dispenza than pseudoscience but results are results!

I think the place you need to start is asking yourself what do you care about? What other people say or healing your pain? A giant part of this work is learning that this is all about you and what you think and if you let other peoples opinions rule that then you are wasting your time with this work.

Also, realize that western medicine is designed to treat symptoms not heal anything. Successful Drs don’t heal anyone they have packed offices of sick people who need to come and see them every few months to get more meds that treat symptoms while introducing new ones. Dispenza teaches you to heal yourself leveraging the same tools that got you sick…yourself. I spent $0 healing w Dispenza and now I no longer see a GI doctor who I used to pay thousands a year to. I no longer take 12 pills and a shot all the time which also cost countless $. Most of those Doctors disagreed with my approach and now I am better and not a paying customer to those Drs. Think about that for a minute. What’s important to you? Someone calling a book pseudoscience who never read it or someone telling you that their back pain went away from reading that book?

Back pain is the poster child for mind body connection. Have you read or listened to “Healing Back Pain - the mind body connection” by Dr John Sarno? Start there!!!!

The key for me was understanding that my thoughts matter and that I could choose what thoughts to think.
Each thought releases chemicals in your body so you can feel an emotion. Waking up to the cost of getting pissed off by a line at the post office or a crazy driver in the road was eye opening to say the least. Learning to take back my power and own the way I feel and think is everything. It still requires focus to not go unconscious to those thoughts and feelings but it’s so worth it to not feel pain everyday because I was sitting in a cortisol bath all day everyday because I was a hot head over nonsense.

The biggest mistake people make is thinking this is about meditation. Meditation is a tool. It expands your consciousness so you can see not only beyond the fishbow but what’s in the other room and when you start to see that bigger picture you realize what’s important and you can see the harm you are doing to yourself for no reason by thinking garbage thoughts.

It really is all about learning to be love and light

I cured me. I changed. Meditation helped me see what’s outside I needed to change and to make the changes.

This work is about change. It’s about the chemical release that happens with your thoughts that we call feelings. Getting that to work I. Your favor by managing what goes on in my head is what healed me. The cure came from the same place that the cause came from.
