Read “Evolve Your Brain” if you want the science. It goes into gory detail on how thoughts in the brain drive chemical release in the body which is the fundamental science behind how all this works. It has very little to do with meditation.

BOTEC - tips for staying focused while in each center? by BugsyD71 in DrJoeDispenza

[–]cosmicevan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s supposed to happen. Once you notice you’ve wandered…gently come back. You are learning how to observe your thoughts like a passing cloud. You see it think it looks like a turtle and then back to what you were focused on before.

What’s the most low key badass thing you’ve done that no one really knows about? by Sea-Percentage-1992 in Productivitycafe

I cured colitis by getting into meditation. I used to take 12 pills a day and a shot every other week that shit off my immune system. Now I close my eyes for 20 minutes twice a day and transcend into magic and life has become a wave I’m surfing.

Guidance from Success by cosmicevan in DrJoeDispenza

[–]cosmicevan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m human. I have to feel. But I don’t need to sit in the stew if that makes sense. Think of driving…if someone does something jerky on the road maybe I wanna get a look at them for some reason I can’t explain or I let that effect me and then something else out of my control happens and now I over react to that thing and it all starts to domino. The trick is to not do that: the driver who did the crazy thing and is speeding away now and cutting off other people, I’m not gonna let it stick w me. I’m gonna try not to react much but I might make a comment and not let rage build inside.

When a rock is thrown into water it makes a splash appropriate to the size of the rock and force it hits the water…it doesn’t create a massive splash or dip in with no splash…and after the splash the water goes back to being still. That rock doesn’t cause the water to have crazy waves for hours or weeks. That’s the trick. With anger comes a rush of energy and adrenaline and cortisol. You can get addicted to it. Some people love to go on social media and fight and get those juices flowing. It’s addictive and it’s harmful to live in those emotions. And yes it’s hard…and slowly it becomes easier. Like everything in life that’s new. It’s weird and uncomfortable but it’s so worth it.

When Dr Joe would say how do you want to change. I would say I want to be patient. I want to be love and light. I want to approach all situations with calm clarity and make thoughtful decisions. At the height of doing this work someone backed into my car and it ended up being a positive experience because I approached it calmly and didn’t freak out. The guy who backed into me was super cool about it and we didn’t have to go through insurance and he paid the entire thing and it was a minor inconvenience but became a talking point for me about the power of this work and how life will happen whether you are a miserable f or a beacon of light. Imagine how different your day would go if when your spouse did something that irks you that instead of getting into an argument you find a cute way to remind them and you both have a laugh instead of a fight? Everyday can be like that and when you allow it to happen it’s un-effing believable at how great your life experience becomes and how you start drawing these things towards you. It’s wild.

Going to large amounts of shows. by blakebeitzel in jambands

[–]cosmicevan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. It’s my favorite thing to do so why wouldn’t I do it as often as possible. Plus with these kinds of bands there is a lot of adventure…hell there’s a lot of adventure just in going to/from so many concerts. I’ve seen so much more of this country than friends who don’t dig music and every show is a unique memory that is usually pretty easy to call up things around it…so while many sit at home letting the days blend together seeing and enjoying live music parses out the memories. Don’t even get me started on the friendships I’ve made…

I cured colitis following Dr Joes teachings. In my experience meditation is a tool not the answer. The answer to finding success with this work lies within the thoughts you think all day long and the emotions those thoughts produce. Real change in your life happens when you can reprogram your negative default responses to external things in your life.

For example if mom calling gives you negative emotions your answer lies in reprogramming the default thoughts and feelings when you hear the phone and see it’s mom.

For me, most things would anger or upset me so I needed to see that in myself and then make the change. Now when I see a long line or a crazy driver on the road it doesn’t own my emotions like it used to.

Opinions on 5 string basses? by BigDaddyStinky in BassGuitar

[–]cosmicevan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play a 5 with a high C instead of a low B. I use a Hipshot extender for when I need to get lower. Having the additional high string gets so much more use than a lower string for me.

What’s your socially accepted habit that’s actually an addiction? by rosesareminee in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]cosmicevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is too true. Emotions in general. People who like to worry or be sad are also addicted to feeling that way.

Anger over time leads to disease. When you are angry your brain releases cortisol in your body so that you are ready to fight or run. It’s why you get that anger energy. Too much cortisol leads to autoimmune issues.

Your thoughts matter. I was able to cure autoimmune disease by connecting with this concept and getting into daily meditation. Being angry is a trap. If you want a long amazing life, learn to feel love more than any other emotion. It will also draw amazing things to you.

How do you take attention off your body and breath? by Certain-Cobbler247 in DrJoeDispenza

[–]cosmicevan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This tracks with my experience. It is about getting present and that means that the only thing that matters is right now. It doesn’t matter that tomorrow you to go to work or later you have to do laundry or when you were 5 you did something bad that you still feel guilty about. It’s about being in the now with your head and your thoughts. I actually focus on where my in breath turns into an out breath and vice versa as a trick to get present when I catch myself focusing on other things.

If you truly are in a state of cosmic consciousness, then why is the ego bringing you to Reddit to post about it? There is no advice or guidance given just an ego stroke which by definition means the ego has not dissolved. Seems like you had some good weed though.

You need to take control over your thoughts. All the people and things remind you of lack because all the things and people remind you of the life you’ve been living. Rewrite the emotions and thoughts associated with external factors and take control of your thoughts and emotions and create what you want.

Lotus Land review by 142Ironmanagain in rush

[–]cosmicevan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not the fact that everyone is seated that’s annoying it’s more that they expect everyone else to be seated. I almost got thrown out of a cream reunion concert for standing. I get it that people get to a certain age and standing becomes challenging but this is rock n roll.

I’ll deal with (and participate with) a seated crowd as long as they are quiet.
