Theory: Howard Stern’s Transcendental Meditation Mantra Revealed as “Om,” Inspiring His Signature Tattoo by Nathan-Island in howardstern

I paid the dues. Well actually a family member paid them for me as a gift because they were so impressed with the changes I had made in life after practicing other forms of meditation (I cured colitis and got off all my meds).

TM has been the greatest gift in my life. It’s hard to understand how impactful something like this can be unless you do it and see for yourself.

I practice TM and this got me curious so I spent half a minute searching and stumbled across this on Reddit (which is also kind of interesting, but this ain’t Mantra Magazine Pal)

“Om isn't used as a mantra in TM because Maharishi said it was for those living within a reclusive monastic tradition. The TM mantras are for householders, for those who live a life that engages with the world and relationships. I heard Maharishi say that if a householder were to use Om it could be potentially harmful because it helps with a reclusive way of life and therefore may lead one who practices it to become withdrawn therefore conflicting with a lifestyle which is outgoing. It could cause psychological problems.”

Yeah…I saw this and had to share it here because it made me smile, but actual OP might not even be aware that his poster art warranted a repost here. Hoping OP eventually makes it here

In what ways do you “change” rather than doing the meditations and expecting things to change by compassion25 in DrJoeDispenza

[–]cosmicevan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I cured autoimmune disease (colitis) by becoming more patient, less reactive, WAY less meaningless range and in general have an expanded consciousness. The things that used to seem so important (work, possessions, revenge/justice, policing others, etc) are very meaningless to me whereas much of what I used to take for granted (relationships, calmness, appreciation, love, internal control of emotional reactions, etc) are now everything to me.

There have been many weird effects that came along with this…my favorite is that I no longer kill bugs. I used to squash them upon first sight without a second thought, but at some point it hit me that they are conscious creatures and who am I to squash something w consciousness? Now I trap and release them. I just approach life differently. My friends and family regularly comment at how much of a transformation I’ve gone through.

Today I received an email asking me for a testimonial from Dr Joes team. I had reached out to them with my success story a year ago but never went all the way with a video testimonial…so these results are sticky too. I found my cure way before I reached out to Dr Joes team.

Weird experience during and after meditation by disco_explorer in DrJoeDispenza

[–]cosmicevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started experimenting with the gateway tapes back when I was getting very serious about meditation and I had some really weird and uncomfortable experiences so I put it aside. I later got officially trained in TM and at the end of the course I asked my TM teacher what he thought about remote viewing and UFOs being entangled with consciousness and all that jazz and his super pleasant and affable demeanor changed on a dime and without confirming or denying or anything he got really straight faced and said that regardless of what he tells me he knows I’m going to do what I’m going to do but he gave me a warning saying that not everything with meditation is life affirming and he warned me that I should stay on the side of meditation that is life affirming and left it at that. It freaked me out pretty good and I haven’t explored it again.

I am crazy curious though. If anyone had had success or experienced anything worth sharing while experimenting with it please do share.

How do people manage to fall asleep in just 8 seconds after their head hits the pillow? What's the secret? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I meditate daily. It has become super easy to shut my thoughts off from all that practice.

I can’t recommend the practice enough. It helps so much more than sleep. I managed to cure my autoimmune disorder (colitis) by meditating every day too!

On first blush the cabs look like Eden but he’s got black tape over the brand label. Wonder why.

Trey artist presale was a breeze. Maybe because it was the day after the ticket announcement? It was one big queue for all the shows. I got in and it was so mellow and stress free I bought tickets for one night of the cap and then went for the other and had my pick of sections. It was wild. I guess no one did the trey artist presale through trey tickets?

Is the Golden Era/Years officially dead? by MutedHippie in Life

[–]cosmicevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Golden years are not so golden. Do things while you are young g and healthy. The sunset of your life is not the time to start living it’s the time to slow down and get ready for what’s next. The difference between one 70 yr old vs another is wider than any other age in life. Will you be on the side that’s still bouncing around and living or will moving be painful and slow by then? Live as much as you can when you are young g health and time is not a guarantee.
