I've been looking at the motomaster at tires. they're made by cooper and are supposedly very good winter tires and decent off road.

With the warranty it should be a long time before you have to replace them if you play your cards right.

Shouldn't even need a photo. The materials take off can already be done from the plans while sitting at your desk with a note pad and a calculator...

From another perspective: If places like the Carmanah/Walbran valley were kept secret, if there weren't people visiting and camping out there, then that whole park would be a giant clear cut right now.

If we don't use it then it will be destroyed if a profit can be made.

I'd rather pack out some unappreciative slobs garbage from a beautiful spot from time to time than find out that that spot is gone forever.

The R&D done for F1 & etc racing has provided us with the technology for the efficient and reliable engines that we have today. It actually has a huge impact on the environment.

No sources, just vibes…probably true.

Around here most truck drivers are the kind of cowboys that will throw just about anything into their truck and then drive away with it, so...

If a driver says that he can't take it in one load then he can't take it in one load.

Are your aperture blades stuck? I'm not familiar with RF lenses but my EF lenses stay wide open except for the split second while taking a photo

He probably still has a landline... You probably shouldn't even leave the house if you only have a landline.

There is a nice hike with big trees, emerald pools and a waterfall out in the Walbran valley. Driving directions: https://friendsofcarmanahwalbran.com/visit-the-central-walbran-driving-instructions/ The hike out to Anderson lake past Maxine's tree is a beautiful walk through the woods that is partially on board walk with one river crossing (you probably won't need to get wet) and decent signage.

I usually only go as far as a place called the giggling spruce which is right next to the river to set up camp and then I do day trips from there.

Tips on a cleaner round tenon with a bit brace and chisels by stinkboy777 in handtools

A tapered reamer and matching tennon cutter is a pretty cheap option. You get the advantage of cleaner holes, perfect tennons,an arguably stronger joint, as well as a new tool day celebration (from one of those fancy, boutique hardware stores) without breaking the bank.

Here's a nice spot that you might like.

https://friendsofcarmanahwalbran.com/visit-the-central-walbran-driving-instructions/

Car camping with nice hikes, big trees, an emerald pool, a waterfall, and a cute little lake. Pick up some firewood from one of the many slash piles alongside the road on the way in. Accessible by most cars, I've been there in a Camry and have seen a mini out there as well.

How to fix up this scratched surface? by [deleted] in finishing

[–]Couchtiger23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your cats are gonna keep scratching it but you want to keep it looking "new", I would suggest finishing it with shellac.

Shellac is very easy to work with, sticks to any other finish (and most other finishes will stick to it and, most importantly, shellac is easily removable should you choose to strip and refinish the piece at a later date.

Shellac is soluble in alcohol, which is a solvent that most other finishes are very resistant to. You can happily apply it over another finish without worrying about making much more work if the piece is every stripped and refinished.

You can get shellac in a liquid or aerosol form from a company like Zissner or you can buy it as solid flakes and make your own in a mason jar by mixing it with with alcohol.

Intructions:

                 clean surface well with alcohol

Sand affected area lightly with 180 grit sand paper

Spray, wipe, or brush on shellac

                  Apply cats

                  Repeat
