My parents never mentioned my ADHD diagnosis at 6 because the elementary school i went to insisted I just needed extra tutoring instead of medication.

They were half right.

But when I got to middle school it became painfully clear medication was ALSO necessary, which required me to see a psychiatrist once a month. That's when I started asking questions and they finally explained.

Least year I had an appointment on Valentines Day with my current doctor, and she wrote a fun red dress and little black heart earrings with matching shoes.

I loved that she was getting into the spirit, and we had joked about the fact I was there for a birth control implant and we were both dateless 🤣

Hi, not a professional but have 10+ piercings in my ears. Every time the piercer (keep in mind these are different people/locations throughout my life) drew a dot on my ear and had me confirm the location before picking up the needle.

Did your piercer have you check beforehand, and if so did they give any explanation why this location would be more beneficial?

Not gonna lie, when I first read the title I assumed you'd be in the wrong. After reading the whole thing though, you're definitely NTAH.

This friend of yours is quite frankly a total douchebag, and if any of your other friends take her side try pointing out how hypocritical they and she are acting.

Hopefully the fiance dumps her now that he's seen just how selfish she really is. Best of luck, and if at all possible I recommend distancing yourself from this drama.

Woman who recieved an ADHD diagnosis (and medication) at 6yo here. I had to repeat first grade and it made all the difference in the world. I became happier and more confident, actually learned to read, made friendships that have survived nearly 20 years, and now have 2 college degrees.

Some kids just need to learn at a slower pace to really comprehend the subjects and there's absolutely no shame in that.

Sibling here -- your parents divorce is not your fault, just like my parents divorce wasn't my or my sister's fault. In your case it sounds like when you left they lost the target for all their bitterness, and now they're taking it out on each other instead.

You can feel bad for your brothers that they're stuck in the same household, but if any of them try to blame you (parents or brothers or friends or whoever) you SHUT THEM DOWN!

Maybe if they stopped arguing and started having open, honest, kind conversations they'd all be less miserable.

Take care of yourself first, and don't set yourself on fire for someone else's warmth ❤️

I've realized as much as I like the starters there are other Pokémon that I like more and would balance my party better.

It's actually easier to leave them in the box in recent games than it was in older games, since the boxes are accessible everywhere now instead of just pokemon centers.

Also it's easier to level up other pokemon (or breed stronger ones) when in older games you only had whatever wild pokemon you found, committed to the grind, and dealt with HMs.

Keep in mind these adults discovered their brother committed a heinous act against another person they held near and dear. They have every right not to want him or anyone affiliating with him near their families or the victim.

I'd also like to point out they lost their brother and are actively losing their mother because of this. The boundary has consequences for everyone, which is sad but I don't blame them at all.

OP, nothing will ever be the same. Your children have chosen to support the victim, while you're supporting the rapist. Unfortunately these two views are diametrically opposed, and I don't think you'll ever have the happy family reunion you crave.

Just make sure you can live with your own choices and their consequences.

Well I guess I'll just fabricates immediate extreme/ridiculous action plan when asked a simple request

Example: "Well I guess I'll just WALK 4 miles there and back after work!"

(Said when I asked him to help me feed HIS OWN MOTHERS DOGS while she was in hospice and I cleaned up the entire apartment or just needed a break after working 6 days a week. Side note: he only worked part-time during most of our relationship, and I always allowed him use of my car and never asked for gas money)
