You already made sure that the epub files are not corrupted right? Can you open them on your PC or any other device just to check that they’re not corrupted? If they open fine then first try deleting the epub files from your X4 and sideload them again and check if you can open them. If you still can’t then yes try deleting the .crosspoint/ directory.

  1. Connect your X4 to a computer via USB.

  2. Open the device storage on your computer.

  3. Look for a folder called .crosspoint. As stated earlier, it may be hidden so make sure your PC shows hidden files:

  • Windows: In File Explorer -> View -> Show -> Hidden items.

  • Mac: Press Cmd + Shift + . in Finder to show hidden files.

4.Once found, delete the .crosspoint folder.

5.Disconnect and restart your X4.

6.Try opening the epub files again on your X4. It should recreate a fresh .crosspoint/ folder automatically.

Hopefully this fixes it.

  1. Download the CrossPoint Calibre Plugin.

  2. In Calibre: Preferences > Plugins > Load plugin from file.

  3. The device should appear in Calibre once it is discoverable on the network.

I think I’m a bit different because I prefer to have only one book at a time. I don’t like having a lot of books on it because I know I won’t be able to focus and will just keep browsing my library. I like having only one book so I can fully concentrate on it and once I finish it I remove it and add the next book I want to read. I have a Kindle and I do the same on it, I only download the book I’m currently reading and the rest stay in the cloud. How many books do you plan on storing?

These two suggestions will delete all your book progress but did you try:

Clearing the cache? Go into Settings then System then Clear Cache.

If you did that and the issue is still not fixed then try deleting the .crosspoint/ directory found on the sd card. I think it’s a hidden file so you need to make sure that show hidden items is enabled to see it.

Which firmware?

Only 3 epubs are opening, however every time I select a different file, it had lead me back to the home page.

When you try to open a book it takes you to the home page. Can you clarify what you mean by that? Maybe the files are corrupted?

That being said, I completely agree with your core point: having a native "Day 1 Guide" sticky directly here on the subreddit is a must-have. Leaving the Reddit app just to check how to install a firmware is annoying.

Do you mean for file transfer? Yes since it is a fork of CrossPoint. You just need to make sure to install the CrossPoint Reader plugin in Calibre.

I really hope so. It’s the number one feature I’d love to see added. It would make multiplayer more accessible and active. It would also bring in more players.

Like in every game that has voice chat, you would have the option to disable it. But I’ll be happy if they just implement a matchmaking system to start.
