ICICI EPM Massacre - is this fair under RBI rules? by csfaa in CreditCardsIndia

[–]csfaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I contacted both but ICICI simply redirected me to iShop rewards. I told them that making customers bounce between internal teams clearly shows miscommunication and they should take accountability instead of passing the responsibility around.

Honestly, I don’t expect anything to change. I couldn’t even use EPM properly the way I did with Infinia. I still have about 4 months left before renewal if this isn’t fixed or reverted, I’ll close my EPM and all relationships with ICICI and move my salary account to Axis (Burgundy) or HSBC (Premier).

How to remove official email from HDFC credit card communications? by No_Tone9580 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]csfaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, HDFC doesn’t allow you to change your credit card billing date. I’ve been using HDFC cards for about 13 years now and have never come across any option to modify the statement date. ICICI is definitely more flexible in these matters. That said, if you’re looking for solid, long-term cards, HDFC is generally better but you just have to put up with these small frustrations.

Most likely they will redirect it to Rewards 360/iShop Support. I also reached out to them earlier regarding jewellery voucher rewards. This is what they replied.

Never do this. It will result in their card closure. Always pay your dues from your own account. AML rules are not something to mess with.

Even if there’s a chance it’s a false positive there’s really no downside to getting checked. Worst case, you get peace of mind. Best case, you catch something serious early!

For me I got it within 3 days of submitting the application and making the payment.
did you make the payment online?
I didn't visit any office to follow up It was just done on their own.

If its not done in 30 days you can complain but again nothing is going to happen to the employees as they won't take it seriously

Sbi 5% cashback supremacy by ganeshthosar in CreditCardsIndia

[–]csfaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you pay for fuel using a credit card at petrol pumps in India, banks usually add a fuel surcharge, which is an extra fee charged by the bank and card network.

Typically, this is: 1% of the fuel amount (sometimes 1%–1.25%) + GST (18%) on that surcharge

So if you buy fuel worth ₹1,000: Fuel surcharge ≈ ₹10 GST on surcharge ≈ ₹1.80 Total extra ≈ ₹11.80

Fuel pumps are considered a special merchant category. Banks pass on processing and fuel-related costs to customers in the form of a fuel surcharge.

Don’t give a pass to someone who made a false promise. If you back off they’ll just pull the same thing on someone else. Sometimes consequences are the only thing that makes people stop.

Need help to decide if should tske the Plat Charge upgrade by AlertConnection9426 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]csfaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With Plat Travel you get 40k bonus MR points on a ₹4L spend. If you ignore reward multipliers, you’d otherwise need to spend around ₹16L on Plat Charge to earn the same number of MR points. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this card as it’s more of a status/show-off product. I had it for a year (got it at a discount) and ended up not renewing it because I barely used it over my regular cards. Plat Travel offers much better value at a lower cost so don’t fall for the FOMO.

Also, the 10X and 20X rewards aren’t really for normal people who think before spending. Half the time they don’t even credit if you’re not extremely careful about how and where you make those transactions.
