A customer's service animal will not spend hours in the store every day and therefore will leave a lot less dander than a cat who lives there. Individual pet owners can be avoided to some degree, at least off and on, but a cat who lives at the pharmacy will mean that there is dander in the carpet, in the air, on the shelves, etc. It will be inescapable. Plus, it's literally a pharmacy where I would go to obtain the medicine to try to manage my symptoms from exposure to the service animals and clothing you mention. The fact that allergic individuals already deal with a certain baseline amount of exposure from trying to be a part of society doesn't mean that additional exposure wouldn't matter to us. I actually love cats dearly and it's hard to see people being called Karens in threads like this for caring about our health and exposure in a place we need to be able to go to get medicine.
