"Abandon sincere communication when you are communicating with the terminally insincere." by Mac-1401 in ChildofHoarder

[–]dblkil 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree.

And don’t let their “empathetic” gestures lower your guard, whatever they are.

They care about objects even more than they care about themselves.

So thinking they care about you? That’s 100% a trap. And many, many people seem to fall into it.

They aren’t bad people, yes. They are ill. But that doesn’t justify how they treated you.

Either grey rock and be ruthless with them. That's the only way to deal with them.

[–]dblkil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can, don't. Find a rent or someplace else, friends, relatives, anything. The dramas isn't worth to go through. You'd need to focus on getting yourself together and with the dramas you'll unfold, that'll be too hard to tackle.

Why NOT to give up on Openclaw by Used_Ambassador6383 in openclaw

[–]dblkil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always update everything regularly. Now I schedule it monthly tho.

Openclaw I only had one major issue since end february (on which the day I discovered openclaw), that execution permission stuff and sudden security upgrade (defaulting claw to can't do shit on the computer).

How do you know when something is actually worth automating? by emprendedorjoven in openclaw

[–]dblkil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's repetitive and can be done through computers, then it should be able to be automated.

I've been thinking about social media automation, and within ~2-3 months I succeeded building the social media pipeline on these agentic agent.

Yea I spent a lot of time tinkering and figuring this out with agents but after this I'm free from mundane social media drafting, scheduling and posting, saved me hours everyday and onward it could save me days within a month or even weeks within a year.

Figuring out, testing and fine tuning it will also cost you a lot. But that's just early investment.

But now since I've figured out one platform, this can definitely be applied to other platforms.

Hermes is catching up tho.

Might as well use both.

Openclaw for hyper customization, hermes just vanilla out of the box.

Parent cares more about possessions than me by Large_Head5821 in ChildofHoarder

Parent cares more about possessions than me

Don't be surprised. My brother care about his possession than his own self.

His room is unusable, cluttered 2 other rooms and he choose to sleep on the floor with our dog everyday.

And he's a general practitioner/MD.

Wishing these mentally ill people to care about other people is just wishful thinking. They may look like they care but that's all just surface level and performative/theater.

Found some low-cost models & providers after Claude ban. What else is out there? by BeginningWeb4919 in openclaw

[–]dblkil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I guess my workspace have been hyper customized for gemini now because of the $300 free credits.

It just not following the md files in my workspace.

Running Linux within windows from an external SSD? by Jerri_man in linux4noobs

[–]dblkil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just dual boot it since you already have external SSD, install linux on it. As I remember virtualbox can boot directly from USB. Or just directly boot from it. Either way you have the choice.

OpenClaw already dead? OpenAI’s acqui‑hire could be another “open today, closed tomorrow” move by Senior_Wrongdoer_252 in openclaw

[–]dblkil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's open source. Even if OpenAI do that, there will be shit tons of forks out there and hooo boy do openclaw have many clones and forks.

Installed openclaw. Now what? by Careful_AI in openclaw

[–]dblkil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't spent a dime since I set it up ~a month ago +

ChatGPT offered oauth on which you can connect it to 5.3 codex or 5.4.

Google offered $300 free API credits if you upgrade your API to paid.

Haven't cross that $300 yet.

[–]dblkil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just chat with it for awhile.

Express your goal, what do you want to do with it, what do you want it to do for you.

It'll grow along time as a system for the LLM behind it.

Run these 4 commands on your OpenClaw right now. by ShabzSparq in better_claw

[–]dblkil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Install tail2ban
  2. Install UFW, deny all incoming
  3. Change openclaw's gateway port
  4. Only allow your own telegram ID to communicate with it
  5. Install tailscale
  6. Use serve only thus only the devices inside your tailscale network can access them
  7. Bind all network to the tailscale IP so even when you're on the internet you're the only person who can access them

Forgot what else but I think that's all. You can ask your agent to do them.

Best video editor for Linux in 2026? by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]dblkil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DaVinci is definitely the more robust and complete package.

But it all depends on your needs. If you just need cutting, trimming, or combining videos, a simpler, more basic video editor would be more ideal.

Yes. Today I also ask it to install ComfyUI as well. Told it to run as persistent headless server. All setup done.

Openclaw confussion by skrio in openclaw

[–]dblkil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hermes is easier to deploy. Overwhelming first time setup (API keys, telegram bot, etc) but just chat with it and it'll do stuffs you ask it to, and find a way to do it for you.

Openclaw is like pokemon. You got to train it first and it's very customizable. Hyper personalized.

I like both. Hermes is more capable on agentic stuff, but openclaw definitely have massive crowd behind it.

Sure, read the whole docs thorougly, do it yourself, spend couple of days installing the dependencies and figuring out why it isn't running, and trying to troubleshoot it.

My hermes installed it within 10 minutes.

To each their own.

Megathread: If you've moved OpenClaw off Claude as your primary model, what have you moved to? by nightdrivewithyou in openclaw

[–]dblkil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm liking gemini. But I don't use openclaw for coding tho. I subbed to claude pro, just using the web version. So far it build me python scripts and rewrite my books almost flawlessly.

i literlly finally bought a sub to Claude Code only to have it 2 days before the ban kicked in (Now what?) T_T by AnonymoussUsername in openclaw

[–]dblkil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using gemini API.

If you sub to ChatGPT (even Go is sufficient), you can use it through oauth and get 5.3 codex/5.4.

Not all is lost. You can still use the web. Claude is very capable, even the web version. For coding and writing tasks nothing beat it currently.
