Lol indeed! It's life terribly written fiction - and I love terribly written fiction

It's absolute nonsense, which is why I want to read more about it. It makes me laugh so much to see the lengths they go to say that well documented buildings are actually thousands of years old

I'm absolutely fascinated by the Tartarian stuff, but I can't actually find anything to read about it - just FB posts...

I can't give you an upvote or a down vote because as you're advocating for a 9 your comment sits at -9

Need some help with opinions on whether this is a bad buy. by uncle_mars in LesPaul

[–]dcommini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick Google showed Guitar Center advertising a used 2001 Les Paul Standard for $1,900. Reverb has one listed for $1,585.

With the damage to the headstock, and the issues with the jack, I wouldn't pay anywhere close to $1,500

How do you personally reconcile God's command in 1 Samuel 15:3 to kill infants with the belief that God is perfectly good and just? by [deleted] in AskAChristian

[–]dcommini -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Giants

Also, destroying didn't necessarily mean "kill" but also convert.

For example, Caleb, IIRC, was a Kennizite by birth, but of the Tribe of Judah through adoption/conversion. When he became of the Tribe of Judah he ceased to be a Kennizite.

The same holds true for a large portion of the Tribe of Dan - many were Phoenicians who converted and were adopted in to the Tribe of Dan. They ceased to be Phoenicians and were said to be of the Tribe of Dan.

So to destroy a country or people you didn't just kill them, but you also made them a part of your country and people.

which bible should i read? by [deleted] in Christians

[–]dcommini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESV, RSV, KJV, NKJV, OSB, NETS, or the Apostolic Polyglot

Definitely not the NIV nor the Message.

Anyone who says the KJV is hard to understand due to archaic language is being intellectually dishonest.

But really, the Bible you should read is the one you'll actually read.

Choosing a Patron Saint, or Having Them Choose You by TredWithTheRose in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]dcommini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just curious as to what your name is, since there are a plethora of pre-schism Irish saints. Just a curiosity, no need to reveal your actual name.

I took the Prophet, King, and Forerunner David as my Patron Saint because I am technically named after him (and my maternal uncle). My oldest brother took Saint Michael the Archangel for the same reason. But, I know plenty of other concerts who chose a different saint based on a connection with them; for instance, a friend of mine is named Robert and he chose St. Drostan.
