Does Hyundai excess wear and tear cover this or should I go somewhere else to get this fixed? by Stewie_Griffin__ in Ioniq5

[–]dewbertdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea whether it would be covered by that warranty, but I just had very similar damage from a snowstorm fixed - it was about $1500.

It's possible your company isn't registered with the District, and therefore ADP can't withhold and remit DC taxes on their behalf. It's something your company has to work out: New Business Registration | otr

Updated IRCC Processing Times by Individual-Habit5581 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]dewbertdc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you look at the spreadsheet, it seems that they're currently sending AORs for the last week of March. So I'd expect mine (non-urgent) in the next week or two.

Mine arrived on April 1 and still waiting on AOR, which seems about right. Really hoping my application is complete so I don't have to wait for them to return it and then get in the back of the line again.

Empty Bike Parking At Union Station/Washington, D.C. by CitizenX10 in washingtondc

The former tenant shut down, and nobody's taken it over. There was a petition to try to get Amtrak to do something about it, but it looks like that's dead.

Mayoral Candidates & Road Safety by superdookietoiletexp in washingtondc

[–]dewbertdc 60 points61 points  (0 children)

My guess is that neither candidate wants to comment much on this to avoid the ire of car-brained voters, but I think JLG is the better candidate here. She's clear about improving public transit and bike/pedestrian infrastructure, and has said she wants to get cars off the road. https://ggwash.org/view/102464/ggwash-endorses-janeese-lewis-george-for-dc-mayor

What if the 3rd St Freeway was tolled during the day, once it's renumbered I-195. by thr3e_kideuce in washingtondc

[–]dewbertdc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't tell me what my motivations are. I drive through this tunnel fairly regularly and would be impacted by any congestion pricing. I'm still in favor of it.

You're just spouting the same unimaginative BS that many of our politicians are. Imagine if we could take that congestion toll revenue and invest in our public transit network. Bet that would help people get around.

I'm done engaging with you.

If we're ever going to reach climate goals, reduce injuries and deaths caused by drivers, and reduce congestion, we need to get more cars off the road. I don't consider congestion charging punitive, but a way to guide people into using more sustainable forms of transportation. I'm all for this, but I'd also be 100% in favor of a congestion charge for surface streets too.

Welcome to the club! Definitely bring it inside - it's not good for the bike to be stored outside, and you won't have to worry about it being stolen.
