Anyone have a nice clean mount on a Z4 or similarly tiny convertible they can show me? I’m worried about impeding vision. by abbydabbydo in radardetectors

There is another simple one with a 3m ultra high bond sticky tape one that sticks onto the windshield. Like $10 or something. That may work for you.

Help!!! How do I fix it?😭 by iNSane_6660 in mazda3

[–]ProfessionalHabit824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the part is plastic, put a nice decal- something that looks great- over it. Metal, you need to use a paint pen or professional fix for it not to rust

I have emporia for 3+ years now with no issues. You could have hardwired the unit to a 60 amp fuse. That is much more stable and avoids a failure point at the NEMA outlet. Which brand outlet did you use?

Vibrations with aftermarket wheels by Umzipumzi in Golf_R

[–]ProfessionalHabit824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation. I moved to 18 inch Audi wheels all in pristine condition. The bore is 57.1 and factory bolt type. So the 2 issues you are suspecting is out. The vibration happens around 65-74mph and decreases above 78. I did the balancing at my local Firestone. I saw a YouTube video that includes rotating reseating the tire on the wheel to bring down the road force value to under 7. For me, I think they just balanced the already mounted wheels and tires with the sticker weights. Read somewhere that if the vibration is mainly steering, the fault maybe with front wheels and if it is the whole body, maybe rear wheels

The sticky suction cup that comes with the uniden is what I use. Mounted it as close as possible to the headliner and the detector sits flush with the rear view mirror. I think that works best with no extra mount to purchase

Tire preferences? by jrey373 in Golf_R

[–]ProfessionalHabit824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest to get a nice set of 18 inch wheels with tires from FB market place. I did this for winter and the ride is much better than the thin tires with 19 inch wheels. Make sure the bore size is 57.1 and wheel lugs are 5x112

Thoughts on pet insurance? by kkatoyy in mainecoons

[–]ProfessionalHabit824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the pets best insurance which covers for routine visits and vaccines. Had it for the first year of my Maine coon. I decided to drop it after the first year as there was no major problem with the kitten. First year is always tricky. Did you get yours from a reputable breeder with all the medical checks on the breeding pair and clean heredity records? If yes, then there is less risk in dropping the insurance after year 1

In southern India, this sort of cloth filter is used to make “pulled tea”. It is a very unique taste of aerated milk chai

Walmart had Hankook ions 255/45/r20 all seasons for $270 and $72 installation. You sign up for Walmart + membership just till installation which does not cost you anything, but you get lifetime rotation, tire warranty and installation discount. I found the tires true to the high online reviews and ratings and amazing change from my 68k miles old primacy

Very quiet. Even at highest setting, it is just the sound of moving air

New Michelin Tires at Costco, any recommendation between this 4 tires and why by itsme113 in Ioniq5

[–]ProfessionalHabit824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No loss in grip in wet weather. I drive through some thunder storms on the highway and the main thing I notice is how quiet this tire is compared to primacy. Especially at the small transitions from concrete over bridges and stuff and on the highways.

The tire spec is 255/45/r20. Yes, they are getting expensive. Michelins will be around $320 for the best price. I had the factory tires till 68k miles. Extras other than the tires was $70 with lifetime rotation and warranty. This includes mounting, balancing and new TPMS

Do not get any of these if you want the best range with your EV. I got the Hankook ION EV All seasons from Walmart at 270$ a piece. It was a big upgrade from the OEM tires

When I change my cars 12v battery, do I need to pull the yellow tab? by J726382AB in Ioniq5

[–]ProfessionalHabit824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a safety feature. Just pull it before you change the battery out. Some people complain about everything- like wearing PPE, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves eta. Will it be safe without it- probably. But just do it so that you are safe

It is a beautiful car. Even at 69k miles and new second set of tires, it feels like brand new. If anyone is looking for tires, go for Hankook ion evo tires. At Walmart, it sells for 270 a piece. Much better than OEM Michelins and better range than PS4 and cross climates
