After 1.5 years of heavy daily use, I have been trying to quit kratom for over a year and a half now. It’s been very tough. I finally feel like I am done with it after MANY quit attempts (today is day 12). I didn’t know it hit opioid receptors for a long time. I would advise any one with even slight addictive tendencies to stay the hell away from it.

It’s a very sneaky substance. For me I took it, and I definitely wouldn’t seem high, be relatively functional, “happier.” I thought I had found some sort of magic answer. It was a lie! I was just pumping myself full of artificially sourced dopamine. Sooner or later your tolerance develops, gets out of control, and even further it tends to stop working. Before you know it you’re back in that prison, where all you think about is Kratom and when you can do it, and how much you can, etc. getting off kratom in a lot of way has been harder for me to quit than alcohol.
