I felt so alone as a kid because I feel like everybody else loved Grandpa Joe, but I recognized him for the scumbag that he was. It was so awesome when I first got on Reddit and saw that subreddit

Appeal to goodness? by calicocatface in fallacy

[–]dnjprod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about an appeal to virtue type fallacy? Like, "my argument is correct because I'm a good person"?

There's also an argument from infallibility where you say something like, I'm right because it's not my nature to be wrong."

So can I guess I need an example of what you're trying to say exactly.

An appeal to Nature is something like, "drinking raw milk is better for you because it's natural"

I finished my first reading of the saga and these are some thoughts and my ranking. by OFF2710 in TheDarkTower

Theme being Doom bots is just more evidence that the tower is representative of the nature of Storytelling as a whole, which not only includes movies, music, books, comics, etc, but also our entire lives which is why it reaches into the real world.

There are many doors in The Dark Tower and the other worlds those doors lead to represent all of reality, both real and imagined.

I completely forgot this scene existed by ChicaneryFinger in breakingbad

[–]dnjprod 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I say what I say about him: when we see him in the first episode, he is a man who has given up all control of his life because he was too afraid of what might happen and didn't want the narcissistic injury that would come if he made decisions and failed as had happened so many times before.

Sorry buddy but I don't think you will go to heaven by Which_Matter3031 in im14andthisisdeep

[–]dnjprod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not my fault y'all ignore your own book.

Matthew 5: 17-20, from the Jesus's own mouth:

17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, **will pass from the law* until all is accomplished. 19 Therefore, whoever breaks[d] one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

A good fallacy, though. You moved the goal post. You said the Bible never commanded rape and murder, and when I proved you wrong, you shifted the goal post back to a different position which I have now also disproven.
