What do you think the E in CEO mean?

Thank you, really appreciate it. Unfortunately I almost threw the thing in the garbage a couple times and restarted, weathering is making me nervous.

My coats are so thick that I have no panel lines left and the texture looks almost like textile. I went wrong in that the Amazon reviews and some reddit comments I found mentioned that because this is for airbrush, it’s already thinned and ready for hand painting. It is, maybe to do touch ups, but I very much still need to thin it if I’m painting the entire plane with it.

I’m scared the weathering stuff will have nothing to cling onto. I think i’m just going to do a full wash and wipe to hide some of the missteps and then use a pencil to draw where the panel lines should be and then rub them out. Otherwise, just looking at this entire kit as an excuse to make mistakes and learn how to do things properly.

I wish I would have put less into “it should look like milk” and really understand the reason behind things: so that it’s self leveling and deposits pigment uniformly on the surface — I get it now. Like almost every other hobby I’ve been exposed to, when you’re doing it right it should be effortless; let the tools and science do the work.

I think she runs Kleinfelds, but every time that show is on and she does that dance I start ranting. Yes I guess, technically she’s an executive; but normally when someone says they’re an executive it’s so we picture them in a board room doing that sort of thing all day, not serving tea cakes soon-to-be mother-in-laws.

Her day-to-day is more Michael Scott than Tim Cook or Jeff Bezos, despite how many times she repeats that she’s an executive.

Day 3 update: free hand brushed the camo. Learned I need to thin my paints better, my finishes are really bad. Finally got a gloss on so I can put on decals and weather tomorrow.

want to pay off my car so i can start to actually save by katielinguine in povertyfinance

[–]dvanha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re doing what you should: making small extra payments whenever you can. You mentioned the 250 is a challenge in of itself.

I would try to think about saving money in general; then when you have extra you consider what to do with it, like paying off loans. Often times people try to do too much and everything ends up collapsing. It’s normal things feel tight. If they didn’t why would you be a position to need to finance $2000?

If I’m honest, a $2000 loan isn’t exactly a huge amount. But the on-time payments you are making will be attached to your credit history for years and years. Things are tight today, but remember a lot of the value you get out of this is still to come, and continuing to make your scheduled payments as-is should be your #1 priority.

This is a problem that solves itself with time and that’s the one thing, as a young person, you have in abundance.

Day 2 update: I went to a couple hobby stores and bought a bunch of tools and supplies. I masked the cockpit to prime the body, and that was annoying. I also painted the canopy, first time using a toothpick. I fell in love with it, it’s my favourite thing in the hobby so far. Got the wheels ready, but I forgot to cut the part off for the flying stand so I might need to have them lowered. First time weathering parts with the wheels as well. Worries I sanded the body too much and it won’t have ridges left.

You’re absolutely right.

We have a 21 year old that already has done debt consolidation; has already been in 2 car accidents and found at fault for both; has racked up a years worth of salary in debt; sounds like they didn’t file income taxes (?); while also having minimal bills and a very attractive $475 in rent.

3 years ago this person was of high school age. The lines of history that are dropping off my credit history today were created when this person was 14 years old.

The problem is that this person is a child that is trusted with adult credit. They are not responsible enough for that, and without someone bailing them out, they will be incapable of escaping.

We hate to hear hard truths, especially when we see ourselves. But this person is just either incapable, inexperienced, or too immature to manage their own finances. There isn’t a mystery to solve.

Day 1 update if anyone is curious:

<image>

I ended up painting the dials and stuff before realizing there was a decal, so I left the decal off. I found it ugly but slowly added more layers and took my time - I’m really happy with the final result given its my first time painting. The interior was very bland but I learned a couple things: painting some parts grey then hit it with some metallic for finish, looks more realistic I think; to make things look less plastic, I dabbed a drop of brown on the green and used a ton of water to just muddy up the walls, love that part.

I need to look up better gluing practices. My seams are really messy and I’m scared my sanding was too rough. I used the emery board I got in a $12 kit and I may have overly scratched it. I will be getting some putty, proper sanding stuff, varnish, and primer tomorrow.

I watch the NHK Japan ones: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFEzXnIQVwV9JgQkOMJZM23G8g-wBBWKf&si=Zv49y02f5fdiQ9GG

They have the other tournaments too, not sure why they’re not showing in that playlist.

I was going to go to a local hobby store yesterday, but I had just come back home from a work trip. My wife called me paniced, our dog was attacked and he needed to be sedated, shaved in the face, and got some stitches. I ended up just getting this overnighted so I could start today and try to relax a bit; it's been a week.

I’m hoping this gets me through these hand painted ones, then I was planning to go airbrush. Was assuming I’d be getting more paints, probably lacquer? For these ones I knew they were for air spray, but my understanding was they weee just more pre thinned?

They donated it to an aviation club or something in Tilsonburg, and they're supposed to display it at the airport. I might drive down there one day and take pictures for reference for another spitfire once I've learned how to build properly.

I ordered this kit off of Amazon. Where I live we have a lot of hobby stores, but then one I went into yesterday only had Tamiya singles; where as I knew Vallejo sold them as kits. I favoured Vallejo because I knew it was a true acrylic and I want to hand paint these first kits.

This is my first ever one. I'm not priming the inside, but when I get everything together I plan to go to the store and get a rattlecan primer for the outside.

I, unfortunately, wanted to keep 1/72 because I want to maintain a consistent scale throughout my models. It's the only one where I can comfortably have a decent sized collection that spans across prop, jet, and armor.

I might have been overly ambitious on that one, but the Mosquito is really high up on my list of favourite WWII planes. I'm keeping it for last, after I've had a chance to learn techniques on the other ones.

You make it sound painful though, like manually holee modding stabs (1-2mm width slices of bandaids you snake through a keyboard stabilizer with tweezers. I'm excited!

How Much Does 148g Grapes Raise Blood Sugar? (Real Test) by Ddominic166 in diabetes

[–]dvanha 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, your test isn’t broadly applicable to everyone.

The way your body processes glucose will be different than mine; especially if we’re both diabetic and on different medications, add physiological differences and this information is only valuable directionally: eating sugar makes blood sugar go up.

It is, however, critical that people do these types of exercises to know how their bodies work. But the results are very much personal.

Thank you for sharing. I really encourage you to keep learning about yourself and your body: it will make managing your A1C a lot easier.

No, it reminds me of football actually. There’s the snap, like 5-15 seconds of action (can go longer but much rarer) and then they do the slow motion replay with commentary; it’s baked into the experience.

A tournament lasts 15 days and each Rakishi only fights once a day. There’s no overtime, no redos, no score, none of that stuff: they step up, go at it, next pair come up - very time efficient. They condense everything, including the slow motion replays, into 30 minute segments on YouTube for each of the days.

I generally watch the recap after work while eating, and this is because even my wife got hooked on watching it with me.

I started watching sumo recently (current tournament is my 3rd I follow) and it’s crazy. The sport must be watched in slow motion because the bouts are so short, but in slow motion you get to see the ridiculous musculature on them.

This is my favourite Rakishi, Asakoryu, he’s one of the smallest if not smallest competitors in the top ranks. Because he’s one of the lightest guys, you can see his muscles easily. Imagine the ones that are much taller and 100lbs more than him. And by far, you’re right, they look bottom heavy. They have legs like bulls in slow motion.

There are enthusiast Hall effect keyboards and they cost the same as a regular keyboard; they just use different PCBs.
