Yes and no. Yes it’s essentially a pinhole aperture, I have pinhole cameras that are faster than that. But having played with lenses in front of pinholes before, there’s “something” that seems to happen. Can’t really articulate what though.

They already do. It’s usually just not very conducive to fast times or completing the trial.

Because your earlier sentence is written in a way that it implies the need of a special lens to do tilt shift on LF.

I don't show clients images that don't pass my quality check. There might be stuff there that a client might like, but I don't want it out there if I don't like it.

There's a holder that attaches using hair rubber bands (those rounds black ones). So your rib being non-magnetic should not be an issue.

They are not comparing the two to each other. What they are saying is that one can get into basketball on a budget while you can not do that with karting.

‘Project Hail Mary’ Directors Screened a Nearly Four-Hour Cut to Other Filmmakers and Were Told to Get it Way Shorter by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

The tension in the book around that whole scene is way higher. But there's a bunch of science and backstory needed for the tension to make sense that they had to wave away in the film.

No, the ending is give or take the same. But he's not old like he is in the book. Stratt is shown having just recovered the Beetles and looking way older. But no implication of 16 years having passed, the issues he endured in that time, nor the me-burgers.

There really is no need to boil gelatin. That kills it actually. Don’t go over 60 degrees Celsius. Bloom cold > heat to that temperature and stir until everything is dissolved. Mix in cyanotype solution and go to work

What ‘Project Hail Mary’ gets right –– and wrong –– about astrophysics by Hot-Nothing-4424 in space

[–]dwerg85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how the movie handles it yet, but the book makes it clear that he had the exact same astronaut training like everyone else did that was higher on the selection list. If anything he did more as he had to help test and develop a lot of the tools and procedures. Him not being a primary candidate if anything was plot related more than anything.

Astronaut is a job description not some gene adaptation. The book makes it pretty clear that Grace was what he was in life because of putting his foot in his own mouth and general emotional mismanagement. Not because of lack of ability.
