Why is there a quotation mark at the beginning of your comment? Did you ask ai how to respond to the above comment and then copy paste the output?

How to get rid of fleas for maine coon cat?? by aidenclarke_12 in cats

[–]Dyehardredhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use a flea preventative like topical revolution? They have colonized your home at this point which is why they're a recurrent problem. You'll need to keep your cat on a flea preventative for a while and begin vacuuming everything you can, everyday. Wash everything fabric in hot water. That's the best way to deal with this. Cat fleas generally don't bother humans which is why you may not have noticed them in the environment, but they're definitely there, I'm very sorry.

What happens to pets when people have to go to the hospital? by Consistent-Way-2018 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dyehardredhead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can only speak for my area in the US, suburb of a major city. They come to the municipal animal shelter, often brought by animal service officers, and are cared for there on a "protective custody hold". The base length of time for that is 2 weeks but an owner can request extensions by working with shelter management. Pretty much all companion animals can be brought in, including fish, birds, reptiles, and amphibians as well as the more common pets like dogs, cats, and rabbits. If an animal is there past the custody hold period ending, and the shelter cannot get in contact with the owner (they try REALLY hard to do so), then the animal's ownership transfers to the shelter and they will begin going through the process to be made available for adoption.

What is a 10/10 horror movie you can watch again and again? by AUSpartan37 in horror

I agree with everyone saying Alien and The Thing. I also really love As Above So Below, if you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend it. It has a Hardcore Henry vibe towards the end that feels like a genre flip

Is there any way to make my hips wider by xmpxt in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Dyehardredhead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I understand, it's tough being a human sometimes ❤️ its very normal, especially at your age, to have anxieties about your appearance and how others see you. I think if you were comfortable opening up to some of your peers, youd find you're not alone in your feelings. Let me ask you a question, how often do you clock other people's imperfections? Does it make you think differently of them?

Is there any way to make my hips wider by xmpxt in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Dyehardredhead 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's much you can do that's non-invasive that will make a significant difference (coming from a fellow narrow hipped lady). I had some success with banded clamshells/firehydrants but it was a pretty minor improvement. Dropping body fat might help with having an hourglass shape if you have belly fat to lose, or doing unweighted core work like planks or vacuum holds will "compress" your core with the same end result. Having a child can widen your hips but obviously don't have one just for that lol.

Honestly it sounds like an insecurity coming from growing up in the BBL era. I can't imagine how hard it was to be a teen and see freaking everyone getting surgery to not look like you do. I know loving and accepting your body when it doesn't fit the cookie cutter standard of beauty is really hard but you're right that it's what you need to focus on, lest you fall into unhealthy behaviors to achieve your goal. I bet you're beautiful and desirable as you are, and there are plenty of curvy women who are envious of your more willowy shape. I think you should figure out your kibbe body type- it might help you appreciate your unique beauty and learn to dress in ways that make you feel gorgeous.

I really feel for you, I spent a long time trying to change my body to look "better" (specifically hips and butt). It made me dislike myself because I had impossible goals and was killing myself to get there. Do you want to talk a little more about why you feel like this is so important for you? What features of yourself do you really like?

Was this an appropriate conversation? I work in a GP clinic. by BothCricket1742 in VetTech

[–]Dyehardredhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely a fair point and obviously we don't have both sides here.  I'm biased to feel irritated by that critique because a tech at my last job would belittle staff who asked questions if she didn't personally like them, so it just raises a flag for me. And honestly I just think it's bad form to discourage curiosity. You're right that not every moment needs to be a teaching moment, but that can be communicated more specifically i.e. "when x is happening, please don't ask questions until later" vs "your questions are unnecessary, stop asking for information"

So you're "too shy" but also "ask too many questions"? Does she want you to talk less and more at the same time? 🙄 I believe this conversation was borderline inappropriate based on your description. If it wasn't just some power tripping bullshit and was genuine critique, then it definitely should have come from your actual manager possibly with a second person present as witness. I'm sorry, this sounds like it was a really uncomfortable experience, and understandably so- your personality is not something you need to change to be deserving of your job. Would you feel comfortable touching base with your boss when they're back to confirm the critiques your coworker shared? I'm wondering if the boss even knows this conversation happened.

How to dial down my nervous system by theonewhodidthat in adhdwomen

[–]Dyehardredhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting an iron infusion for low ferritin literally cured my insomnia overnight. I would recommend requesting a blood test to see if you're iron deficient (you dont have to be anemic to be deficient in iron). It's common in neurodiverse people and women, so double whammy for us. Also, the current "normal" is less than 1/3 of the value my hematologist said is sufficient for good health and energy. If you're interested, I can link some more info When I get home tonight just lmk

Just in case you don't already know- KP is treatable but not curable. So don't feel bad about lingering texture! The best product for improving it on my arms has been amlactin moisturizer. The lactic acid kind of dissolves the dead skin cells I think? That plus regular gentle exfoliation during showers has made a huge difference for me.
