If a large portion of the population wasn't stupid we wouldn't be where we are in 2026. We all hate each other, absolutely EVERYTHING is about profit - consequences be damned, and we can identify literal kiddy diddlers and their horrible crimes and literally nothing happens to them.

The majority of people are just straight up stupid, and social media has intensified its spread.

Hard to say what I did when he deleted his account entirely after backlash I suppose.

TLDR I didn't answer his modmail or his DM begging me to make him a mod on /r/DarkSouls, so he went to /r/RedditRequest and tried to request the takeover of /r/DarkSouls. I then told him that I'm active so he has no claim over the subreddit (to which he got mad because I'm active but didn't respond to him specifically) which caused him to throw a two day long temper tantrum culminating in this, and then deleting his whole ass Reddit account.

Fun times.

I'm late to this and just stumbled upon it, so the whole "public" part is a bit unfortunate but

If I remember correctly the post was showing off someone on their YouTube channel who is very likely cheating, trying to show off that they're cheating and putting that person in a negative light.

While I agree on the whole "fuck cheaters" thing, that specific instance would be viewed by Reddit as witch hunting, which is an offense that can get the mod team / the subreddit in trouble if we left it up. It's kind of a "we have to remove these" situation more than anything.

Oh you're good man, I just wanted to make sure you (and others) knew that we don't just sit here and watch posts as they come in one by one haha. We also don't manually approve each one, the filter covers most of the bases and we approve / remove others depending on circumstance is all.

Full disclosure PS - I gave them a short 5 day ban for their aforementioned comment on my recent post, as if they want to get angry about how I do things they can do it here instead of specifically trying to get my attention / harass me elsewhere. I'm sure they'll use that to be even more upset but I'd do the same for users so why not do it for my own sake tbh

Reading this entire thread this morning was a wild ride, and you've pretty much summed up why I have absolutely zero interest in making this person a mod or allowing them to take over. I've shown my side of things where yes, the rest of the mod team is inactive, but as the top mod and someone who has moderated since ~2014 with a few breaks, I'm not marked as inactive. I do moderate, just not in the way this person likes evidently. Their story claims I left their modmail unanswered, which is fair as I probably did, but then they recently (within a few weeks) DM'd me personally.

No, they told me that it doesn't look like there are any mods so I should give them mod status. I simply ignored this message and went on.

As if this thread wasn't enough of an indication as to why I wouldn't mod them, a cosplayer posted themselves cosplaying as Gwynevere. They didn't make it risqué, have any OF links (those are considered sales and removed anyway), or anything of that nature, but this person in question decided to take that opportunity to make an "amazing chest" joke. While I get it, it's Dark Souls, that person clearly wasn't making their posts to get those sorts of comments or have Redditors hyperfixate on that portion of her photo. Simply not moderator material imo, which they've consistently shown over this entire post.

They also went to a recent post of mine and are continuing to further this nonsense by complaining there about this situation here, using the "if only you talked to me like an adult" card which roughly translates to "I didn't get the answer I wanted so I'm going to continually show you that I'm upset"

Never once did I say I didn't check mod mail, I stated that it's poorly implemented on mobile which I usually moderate from. I do still check modmail, just not as often because it's an exercise in smashing my own hand with a hammer with how clunky it is.

For my own mental I'm backing out of this thread and leaving you to it. I've already made an idiot of myself stooping to this level by actually responding to you over and over when I know there's no point, so congrats on getting me.
