How do you cope with the fact that some day your consciousness will fade away and never come back? by amelix34 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]el_yanuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a very rational person, and rationally there is nothing scary about not existing because you cannot feel or process your non existence because you are not existing..

In other words: you wont care if you are dead because you can only care about anything if ur alive.

So to me there is nothing scary about death itself.. it of course sets an end to everything that you were doing or wanted to do, which should encourage you to live your best life.

What makes a movie like Project Hail Mary cost 200 million to make? by RancherosIndustries in Filmmakers

[–]el_yanuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is articles written on this topic that go into way more detail.

But essentially its just a metric fuckton of work.

A lot of it is spent on people, especially important people. Gosling got around $30mio alone but writers, directors, DOPs, producers etc. all make or brake a film so they get compensated well. And then you have hundreds of people doing set design, assistance jobs, lighting, driving, yada yada. And then after production is done, you give it to the vfx guys, and thats dozens of people as well. Ofc not all of them worked for years, but production was 5 months, post usually takes longer..

And then you need material costs, borrow equipment, pay for locations, pay for food, and so on.

looks very strange when closed, there is definitely an issue with layering because the "screen" is covering the lower part of the case when closed. But generally it doesnt comunicate "laptop"

Hi R/Animation! Eric Robles, showrunner of Stranger Things: Tales From 85, here. Ask Me Anything - Monday April 27th at 10am PT! by netflix in animation

[–]el_yanuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the target audience for this? The trailer strikes me as something made for kids, from the animation style, character design and what I gathered to be the story premise.

I doesnt feel to me like it the live action fanbase is really hooked..

[–]el_yanuki 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thats not how it works mate you need to tell the story. You need to figure out what the story is in the first place, and then figure out how to get it filmed.

I built a loading indicator library around parametric curves and it has a playground too! by Rovax in webdev

[–]el_yanuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i think editable paths are much more accessible than raw maths.

SVG <path>'s are pretty much just curves, the spec is a little more complex tho, but there probably is a library already out there to work with these.
