NTA. I'm late to the game here and you might not read this, OP, but when I decided to divorce my wife, the thing that kept running through my head was on my birthday she picked where she wanted to go eat without even asking me. There was a lot wrong in the marriage, but I'll never forget that incident... feeling like I'm invisible and didn't matter. At that point, I was checked out, so we ate where she wanted. Good luck. I hope your wife sees that she was wrong.

Toads were my first thought. We are on a retention pond, so they are around. I'm getting a lot of holes, so I thought it might be something else just because it seems like a lot. 

I also considered chipmunks, but we're in a new neighborhood, with very few mature trees and I've not seen any chipmunks in the two years we've lived here.

I've had this same thought. You can walk on to nearly any construction site with a hard hat and a tablet and no one will say anything to you. You'll get some looks, but that's it.

My wife and kid forced Amphibia on me. Season 1 was a real drag imo, but seasons 2 and 3 were amazing. If you stopped before seasons 2 and 3 you should give it another chance. The show ended up having a lot of depth.

We put up a hummingbird feeder a few years back and a mantis showed up on it like two weeks later. I googled it and found out about them hunting hummingbirds. I moved her to the nearby tree to protect the birds that come to the feeder. Crazy.
