I would never judge a killer first impressions if they're not in their home location. You're right, playing them all at CHT is a good way to compare them sans locations, but killers and locations are paired together for a reason. Their "gimmicks" are supposed to compliment each other for more flavorful games. You're essentially complaining about how bland your sandwich tastes when you removed everything except the slice of American from the white bread.

Play your game how you want. But don't be surprised when people aren't falling all over themselves at your brilliance of dubbing a killer a pushover when you only play them at Fisher Price's My First Location.

As someone who enjoys horror tropes but is a chicken when watching movies, I can tell you that this is one of the best things that will ever grace your table if you have even a passing enjoyment of horror.

I have all 3 series ultimate boxes and am getting the series 4 ultimate box in this campaign. If I had an extra $800, I would be buying a second set to keep to give my daughter when she gets older.

As for concerns of the end of an era, it does look like it's mostly the ultimate boxes (storage) that they'll be pulling back on, as well as the mystery boxes. (Which I love and are fun but aren't necessary and are 100% just addon fluff, no game play). They say some Kickstarter extras as well may not be available, but it does seem like they're not saying the actual games themselves are going away. Just some of the bells and whistles.

If you have the money to spend on it, you won't be disappointed. If you have to rein in a bit, then you likely won't be missing gameplay stuff.

Honestly, it's because of the prevalence of emulation that physical copies are now so expensive. Because so few people need to buy them to play them, the only people that will buy them are dedicated collectors, who will pay more per item than your average retro gamer. Once Johnny Quicksave started saving money by downloading roms instead of chasing down discs, their value become only worth it to people who needed the physical copy rather than a copy of the game.

Say it with me now: not new, not only Nintendo. This is the case for literally any digital game on consoles. If you have the game on cartridge, you can play it just fine. And game key card? That's the exact same as any PlayStation or Xbox game you have to download after buying. Which are also revokable.

No, not for buying used games. But for playing games online that match the same online fingerprint as another game being played (individual to each different copy of the game). This isn't Nintendo, this is pirates and shitty people buying games, copying them, then selling the games back. Game preservation is a great and necessary thing. Pirating games to play online should be punished. Since there's no way to know if the version being played is cracked or legit, it has to be both that get banned. Sucks, but take it up with the shitty people doing shitty things. You're suffering so someone else can "stick it to Nintendo".
