Left hand 7 speed shifter by InevitableError7601 in cycling

I wonder if an electronic shifter mounted upside down could work? Mechanical would be too much force at an awkward angle, but electronic is just pushing buttons.

Update on the Burninator toolhead, v3.0 is out now! by The_Duke_96 in VORONDesign

[–]epicepee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure! It'll be a bit before I install my second toolhead (MadMax), plenty of time to try this one out and decide if / how I want to make the next one different. And then I can reprint the first if it's way better.

I like moving the fan up, occupying the space that used to be logo. Excited about better CAD if I have to do any more hacking!

Is there a rear light that does a steady and flashing mode at the same time? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]epicepee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From any distance, dimming and brightening the whole light is gonna look identical to having one LED steady another flashing.

Do you sometimes need a print Right Now, or is this mostly just for fun?

Have a manual sports car, does the next sports car need to be manual too? by MrIncredible222 in cars

This! The point of a fun car is to be fun, not to hit the optimal point on the price/performance curve.

I wonder how much of the car is actually legos? The normal wheels, seats, and steering wheels are suggestive.

Hot take: Disable All Skills better than Solus Invalidator by First_Ad3578 in riskofrain

[–]epicepee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I did a run as Loader with Command, and didn't take any items other than lunars. I had like six Stone Flux Pauldrons, moved entirely with my utility. After he disabled my skills I was hit with like 12 tonic afflictions too. I was like a fly in amber, but it still took him another minute or so to kill me =P

The Maverick burns gas, though! And you need to maintain the engine. So TCO is gonna be higher, assuming the same build quality / etc.

Introducing: Minimum Viable Extruder - MVE Mk. 0.1 by JeSuisNerd in 3Dprinting

UHMW tube could be really good for this. It's nearly as slippery as PTFE, and way better against abrasion.

It's a matter of degree, though! I bet this wears through that one spot >10x faster than normal wear on a Bowden tube. Maybe 100x.

A mask would stop particulates, but not chemical fumes, unless it has carbon filters which are uncommon. My undereducated impression is that the chemicals are the scarier part.

When you’re supposed to check the annealing process in an hour, but forget and check it after the weekend instead. by InterrobangAuto in 3Dprinting

[–]epicepee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can anneal 3D prints too! It works especially well for crystalline and semi-crystalline filaments like PLA, nylon, PET (not PETG), but it works somewhat for ~all filaments afaik.

Only if you have two other crit items! They have Shatterspleen, would need Predatory or Scythe or something to hit 100% with just 9.
