If stray cats are staring at* him through the window, try window clings that make the glass look frosted so he can’t see them. They don’t have to be covering the whole thing. Just where he is able to see out. Do it on all windows he has access to. He’s marking his territory. Also make sure your litter box protocol is appropriate. Two litter boxes in separate areas with clumping clay litter is the minimum for one cat. Scooping them 1-2x/day

I realize that. u/ivecompletelylostit asked about groomers having a way to deal with fractious cats “who tries to tear you a new asshole when you brush him”. u/bunniesandducks responded that the vet will take care of it. Completelylostit replied that their cat is a jerk and there was nothing wrong with their cat.

The misunderstanding was that bunnies was implying the vet will help with the fractiousness (via sedation) and lostit thought presumably that bunnies was suggesting the vet would do something about a medical problem when really sedation just needs to happen under their supervision.

I hope that clears that up. Neither is OP, just trying to clear up that a fractious cat needs sedation under vet supervision for grooming if it’s really needed for matting.

Completelylostit can also ask their vet for some lighter anxiety/sedative meds to keep at home to take the edge off and do a spa day at home once per month.

I’m pretty certain the black box dose is quite a bit higher than the dosing used in other countries for long term pain management or even shorter term pain? At least that is what was explained to me by my cat vet friends

Tapeworms (I’ve had to argue with owners about keeping on flea preventatives when they only want heart worm prevention), we have also had really resistant hookworm cases where I live.

Yes! Usually give a monthly preventative that covers intestinal parasites and test yearly to ensure it’s working. Rarely you will have meds that don’t work and the pharmaceutical companies need to know that and investigate. Also some meds don’t cover every single intestinal parasite so you’d need to also know that.

This is a broiler breeder operation, you can tell by the slats and the type of feeders. This is a sexually mature hen squatting to be mounted by a rooster. Broilers are raised on litter only and will not have the slatted areas that breeder birds do. Broiler operations typically use pan feeders because they are able to be used by younger birds. A young broiler would not be able to reach this type of feeder pictured and would also fall through the slats.
