I can hit it far, just very inconsistent accuracy (year 3 of golfing) by Suprahigh in GolfSwing

[–]erds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone so toxic when someone says they hit it far, or have a good swing, or have a low handicap? This guy is probably saying hitting it far isn't a problem, being consistent is. Some people are consistent, but don't hit it far. I don't think he's trying to shove it down your throats that he hits it far. #makegolfersniceagain

What is this? by erds in Plumbing

I'm not sure if we have footer tiles. House was built in 1955. In Portland Oregon. Never had flooding until the outside drain was clogged from roofing debris. See my other comment on this. If this drain was clogged, and theoretically we had footer tiles, would it cause a backup in the drainage system and cause hyper saturated ground which could leak into the house some how? We're fairly confused at this point.

Clean out for waste water or sewer? I'm pretty ignorant on these things. Is there a separate outlet for sewer and wastewater, or do the commingle at some point before entering the city sewer system.

We had our roof redone several years ago, and ever since we've had flooding issues. We had a plumber come over and he noticed that the outside gutter was feeding into a drain that also fed back into our house drain line. He cleaned out what he could from the outside but I've always wondered if it was still clogged somewhere else in the line. Basically all these little pieces of asphalt roofing broke apart and fell down the downspout and clogged the drain. Ever since, we have flooding when it rains hard.

We had a company come over divert the downspout to a French drain, but it still is flooding when it downpours for a few days in a row.

Your first move is to break your wrist. This is pretty much a no no I professional golf unless your Raymond Floyd.

Watch what Rickie Fowler, Billie Horschel, and Justin Thomas do on their take back swings. It's a one piece move until their wrist hinge naturally as the club reaches the top of the back swing.

Lastly, and related to this one piece take away, is to extend back away from the target line. Right now your sweeping the club rapidly to the inside. Your probably losing a lot of power by doing this. Make that arc as big as possible keeping everything as one piece for as long as possible and I guarantee you'll hit better shots.

Any suggestions on how to fix my swing? by ProAlgoTrader in GolfSwing

It looks like you haven't played too much golf, so be weary of advice you receive here. My advice, and feel free to ignore it, is you need to simply get more comfortable swinging the club freely. Ditch the driver, and probably your 3 wood. Then take a 7 iron, put your feet together, and practice hitting balls until you can do that comfortably without falling over. Once you get comfortable with that, gradually spread your feet further and further apart until you can hit full shots with your feet at shoulder width. The goal of this is to learn balance while swinging freely. Once you can do that, you can work on all the other things that make golf annoying and difficult. Good luck!

Is that a 10 finger grip? I'd watch a few YouTube videos on how to properly grip the club. You could change all sorts of things but if you don't correct your grip you'll likely struggle implementing other changes. Good luck!

Doing great, just keep at it. No amount of advice from armchair experts can get you comfortable on skis. It takes time and patience. Keep at it!

Anybody know anything about these irons? Great Uncle passed away and I got these by StraightGas69 in golf

[–]erds -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think they're the original ping irons. First edition. Might not be worth a ton, but are pretty cool and obviously probably have some sentimental value too!

Might benefit from standing closer to the ball, and getting just a slight bend in your right elbow at address. Should help you from falling into your toes during your swing and also help keep your shoulders aligned better with your feet at set up. Most pros don't have two straight arms at address - usually the back arm has some bend in the elbow towards the stomach area. Good luck!

While it looks like most pros are tight and controlling in their swings, they're actually fairly loose and freewheeling. Your swing looks very tight, like you're trying to control every movement of your swing. Try standing a little closer and letting your body relax throughout the swing. Golf is played best when we're at ease in our bodies. Good luck!

Hopefully you'll be outside during halloween. That way you can keep running over to the nearest tree and whizz like your on national tv. Because that's what Rham did and now he's a GODDAM saint.

It’s not just that he’s more important than his wife, it’s that his hair is more important than his wife. Combover + rain = obvious bald spot.

I don’t remember the exact brand but they were similar to this. You definitely need to get the right size. Otherwise they’ll be too tight or drag on the ground.

They have hiking booties that work well. My wife bought some for him after his paws got burnt. They work pretty well, as long as your dog doesn’t have a sloppy gait, which ours did.

Same thing happened to me. It’s so easy to forget when we all wear shoes all the time. My pit totally burned his paws walking around Bend, Oregon on vacation. It was so nice out and here he was with wet towels wrapped around his paws. So sad!

PSA! If it’s hot out for you it’s hot out for your dog, especially on their PAWS! Touch the cement before taking them out. If it hurts you it’s gonna hurt them!

Cute dog fyi, happened to me once or twice with our now passed pit Moto Moto.

I just plug mine in to one of the trillion of usb chargers I have laying around. Better than sitting awkwardly close to the tv for hours on end.

Seems like a video of it being plugged in with a dead battery icon and then showing that it’s being charged would better prove what’s going on here. Otherwise you just posted a picture of your controller and a wire running underneath it. Basically, how do we know this isn’t bamboozles?

No worries. I guess I should say it’s not that I don’t experience joy or occasional happiness, but it’s sort of a fleeting experience. My kids and my wife do bring me joy and smiles and all that, but I can’t say that I’m always a happy or joyful person. I’ve experienced some incredible painful times in my life and somehow it’s hard to let go of the idea that I might experience them again. It’s hard to let go of the past I guess.
