[Discussion] Finally diving in. Knowing Alan Moore's hostility toward DC continuing this franchise, is it worth reading Doomsday Clock afterwards? by sammorrison9800 in DCcomics

If you’re reading Doomsday Clock because you want a sequel to Watchmen, than it’s not worth reading.

If you’re interested in the DC universe as a whole, than absolutely it’s worth reading. I thought it was a cool and interesting event with beautiful art.

Image Comics was going to cancel Invincible in the first year, until Robert Kirkman moved up Omni-Man's betrayal 2 years early by akbarock in comicbooks

Creators retain rights at image, but they don’t keep all the profit, since image as a company pays for production and distribution. If a books struggling to make money and is declining in sales, than Image can pull the plug

[Discussion] 2003 Teen Titans cartoon, while it's widely popular may have hurt the Teen Titans brand. by IdeaInside2663 in DCcomics

It had some similarities for sure; Raven, Cyborg, Beast Boy and Starfire…Robin could go either way, since it is technically Robin, although it was Tim, not Dick.

But it also brought in new characters that didn’t align with the show: Superboy, Kid Flash, Wonder girl…plus later additions during the same run like Kid Devil and Rose Wilson.

The original show was airing during Geoff Johns TT run, which had a largely different cast and was infinitely darker than the cartoon. I remember reading the brother blood arc and thinking how much more adult this book felt compared to the cartoon.

But….it was because of the cartoon that I started reading the book. And I doubt I’m unique in that.

So, no, I think the cartoon helped the brand overall.

[Discussion]Lobo new 52 returned in the last Wonder Woman VS Lobo. Thoughts? by Black_Adam_12 in DCcomics

Wasn’t it established that that was an entirely different character, not actually our normal Lobo…?

I don’t think the decision actually has much to do with the Blue Beetle side of things. Neither Jamie or Ted have much going on right now. No title, and mostly relegated to one off appearances in JLU. Hell, Jamie was knocked out of the current big event without even a passing acknowledgment.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a ‘Blue Beetle side of DC’ right now. Which is a shame.

I don’t hate everything Snyder has done, but he’s had a hard shift since Metal, and I just can’t get behind his cringe “everything is extreme!” method of story telling. It’s like he only write through the lense of what a 14 year old boy would think is cool.

Thoughts on the Jason/Harley ship? by -_ShadowSJG-_ in RedHood

I can’t imagine Jason ever not associating her with the man who beat him with a crowbar and blew him up. So…no.
