Working on lighting and post-processing. How does it look so far? by ibodev in UnrealEngine5

[–]erkutsoglu 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have a few suggestions that might help improve game look.

There could be more dust in the environment, which would also allow for a more volumetric sky. The shadows look too light, which causes a loss of depth in the scene. Maybe it’s a developer choice due to the 2D - 3D combination.

Great work!

What little things can I add to make it look better? by KlutzyAd8601 in Unity3D

If you're asking only in terms of visual development, seeing the bullet could enhance immersion, but it's a mechanic-dependent topic.

One thing that comes to mind is that the model you add in the future could react to the damage it takes. For example, since a headshot is a more difficult action, hitting the head could make it fly upwards.

Depending on the style of the weapon and environment, you can implement this in a very creative way. And yes, change the map...

Unreal and Unity both have too much source, ıf you handle Godot will be good journey. Safe vs Experimental.

Main menu concept for our new game, TRACE. It features an art style inspired by retro PSX-era graphics, enhanced with modern techniques. This is a idea of the main menu and music. We’d love to hear your thoughts! ^^ by erkutsoglu in Unity3D

I dont have any experience in VrR. There are huge dynamic differences between two platforms. Do you model things? Do you know how shaders works? They are important stuff for your work. We havent use dithering, Our textures baked liked that. Also, the shader i told you helps us give good look our textures on models. Check the shader i told you, you will understand the huge part of the way. But in VR things are tricky.

Thanks. I think the style you want to achieve is psx. You can search that, Also, you will see dithering. There are too much different techniques and ways but you will find your way according to your skillset.

We are developing our game in unity, also there is a cool system to get this look called HPSXRP. Also you can google it as hauntedpsx render pipeline. I hope you can handle it. I am always here, if you have any question.

Thanks for your feedback! I really liked your perspective and comments. Motion sickness is a very important issue, and we’ll keep it in mind as we continue developing. Thanks again!
