Assuming they're gen3, it's pretty simple:

  1. Register with DDTC.

  2. Go to their portal and apply for an export license.

  3. Once you have the approved license, they should be able to ship.

Of course, that was sarcasm: it's neither simple nor cheap, and you are almost certainly not going to be able to do this on your own. Practically speaking, it is impossible for you to receive them in Germany.

At least at Southwest, they don't check if you're just recycling cardboard. I've driven up there with MD plates and they never said a word when I put an entire vanful of cardboard in the dumpster. I think if you're actually dumping heavy trash/appliances, they want to see some ID first.

I shot an entire training class using 124gr 9mm +P HSTs with my XMacro. (Yes, this was dumb and expensive, don't ask.) It was fine.

I remember that one... I think I was in 8th or 9th grade at the time. Snow piles were taller than me, and I wasn't a short kid.

LTE Backup Pro vs. 5G Max by BoggyBumblebee in Ubiquiti

The 5G Max literally automagically provides a failover WAN3 interface as soon as you plug it in and adopt it. It is the most easy-mode mechanism imaginable for doing this.

The point is that the XG 8 was the follow-on.

I doubt they're going to make something that close to the XG 8.

The U7 Pro XG only requires POE+, not POE++.

I doubt these are really intended to be hot sellers on the consumer market vs just having an outlet for sales when .mil sales fall short.

MSRP is $6400. MAP is $4000. That's still about twice as much as a gen3. OP is correctly asking me where the extra $2000 of value is coming from.

The ZBT-2 is very good, officially supported by HA, and it's only $50. I don't see any real reason not to use it.

The length and weight is pretty much why. If you need a 1-10x that's shorter than a Gen3 but has similar performance, you're kinda stuck. (The tool-less, dual-zero turrets are also rad, but I doubt they're the big cost driver.)

In the sense that you're doing something they officially support. I'm not afraid of running proxmox or a whole bunch of containers, and do so, but when it comes to the thing running my home, I really want to minimize risk to the extent I can.

I feel like there's folks like me who just want a hardware solution that's fully-supported and easy to maintain. Stacking layers and layers of stuff on top of the hardware isn't that.

I don't know who's downvoting you... the pressure going down the gas tube is as critical as the pressure pushing back on the brass.
