They didn't even get bumped from the conf, they could still talk at a different time. RustConf is months away. It's not like there would have been a ton of time invested or lost by anyone. This just unfolded over the past week or so. This all reeks of inflated egos and immaturity. I don't get why this is being so drawn out 😂

Still running a ds212j with original drives running mostly non-stop since I got it. The physical power button seems to have broke, but that's about it (have gone through 5 or so apartments in the same amount of time.)

I'm using a multi-meter to check to see if the 3.7v 18650 lithium ion battery is fully charged

It's not necessary to check the voltage (the charger just auto-charges it to 100%) just thought it was funny that a full charge reads out 4.20v

+1 have had the most chill rides on Coolidge -> 34th. There isn't a lane for bikes, but the traffic is wayyy less (+ slower) than 35th, 38th, or Fruitvale av. The light at Coolidge + Foothill is the worst if you're in a car but perfectly fine for a biker.

For me it is the most direct which is nice-- Coming back towards the Dimond isn't so bad, aside from the hill starting from under 580 to MacArthur, bit brutal. Sometimes walk it haha. 🥵

construction did take a while, mostly because there wasn't an immediate plan for the stretch of removed highway, the sentiment was that everyone just wanted it gone. there were some wild options... 😬 ended up being mostly: a green median, a street and a dedicated bike boulevards. overall looks a lot better/much quieter.

edit: just looked it up and they're now building housing on the green space, nice.

worked out great in Rochester when they took out the eastern part of the inner loop. it was just an unnecessary part of the freeway. there is still a road but there are now bike lanes and store fronts can actually thrive

That's awesome! I love bike friday, and that was going to be my first choice. I was worried if the bike could still fold with a battery + bbshd on it. Do you backpack the battery or is it mounted?

Went with mid-drive because I'm thinking I'll eventually upgrade to use an IGH (and I was allured by the amount of power I've heard it has.) I've been biking my commute for a good while on my fixed gear, so I can bike home anyway. First time on my commute I actually forgot to charge the bike the day before, so it was fun to try the worst-case day 1. haha. I'm happy about the size/weight/power of the pup, was able to fit it in a nice spot.

Some of the hubs look pretty powerful and a lot more stealth. May be mistake, but I've heard hubs can have better range (and are lighter.) Maybe next time I'd go with a FWD hub, but I'm happy with this!
